It adds New Game+, Photo Mode, a post-campaign 00 difficulty, two TacSim activities—including a new mission built around driving the Aston Martin Valhalla—and more than 700 fixes and improvements, according to IO Interactive’s patch notes.
What is in the free Extended Operations update?
IO Interactive describes Extended Operations as the game’s first major free DLC. Its October 1, 2026 patch notes list the following additions and changes:
- New Game+: Replay the campaign with progression carried into a new run. You must complete the full campaign first.
- Photo Mode: Capture and frame scenes from the game.
- 00 difficulty: A more demanding difficulty setting, also unlocked after completing the campaign.
- Jungle Heist: A TacSim operation that sends Bond back to The Pearl hotel in Vietnam to recover documents. IOI says attempts vary.
- Valhalla Protocol: A score-chasing TacSim driving activity on a scenic route in Slovakia.
- Additional TacSim weapons and outfits, plus improvements to weapon-handling animations.
- More than 700 fixes and improvements, covering issues including crashes, progression blockers, clipping, audio, localization and UI polish.
Can you drive the Aston Martin Valhalla in 007 First Light?
Yes. The Valhalla Protocol puts players behind the wheel of Bond’s Aston Martin Valhalla. The activity combines a Slovakia route with machine guns and missile launchers, and challenges players to chase a high score, according to the official update notes.
This playable driving activity came after the car’s reveal in the game. On November 20, 2025, IO Interactive and Amazon MGM Studios announced the Valhalla’s appearance in 007 First Light. That announcement described the real-world car as Aston Martin’s first mid-engine plug-in-hybrid supercar and said production would be limited to 999 units worldwide. The production figure applies to the physical car, not the number of Valhallas in the game. In the announcement, IO Interactive CEO Hakan Abrak said: “The reveal of the Valhalla supercar in 007 First Light marks one of the many steps our team is taking to honor the iconic cars that define the Bond legacy.” (IO Interactive’s announcement)

Xbox Wire’s November 2025 coverage also noted that the Aston Martin DBS appears in a Slovakia mission. The later Valhalla Protocol details come from IOI’s update notes.

These are the sizes published for each platform; allow for differences in how a platform reports downloads and installed storage. The update is free, but you need the base game to play it.
How do you unlock the new modes?
Complete the full campaign to unlock both New Game+ and 00 difficulty. The patch notes do not state an additional campaign requirement for Photo Mode, Jungle Heist or Valhalla Protocol.

Are there limited-time extras?
IOI’s patch notes list two time-sensitive rewards. Linking the game to an IOI Account by November 1, 2026 unlocks The Grey Standard outfit. The “One More” Twitch Drop window is listed as October 1 at 15:00 UTC through October 16 at 17:00 UTC. Deadlines and promotions can change, so check the official notes for current availability.
