The coolest Vision Gran Turismo concepts are the ones that make an automaker’s imagined ideal GT feel unmistakably its own. This curated 10-car selection weighs visual identity, connections to brand heritage, unusual engineering ideas and real-world significance. It is an editorial shortlist, not an official Gran Turismo ranking—and these are concepts, not a list of production cars.
Vision Gran Turismo began as a project for Gran Turismo’s 15th anniversary, inviting manufacturers to design their rendition of an ideal GT for the series. Some concepts exist primarily in the game; Bugatti’s, notably, also became a physical show car.
What is Vision Gran Turismo?
Vision Gran Turismo is a Gran Turismo project in which automakers imagine an ideal or future Grand Touring car for the game universe. The project overview credits Gran Turismo founder Kazunori Yamauchi with asking manufacturers: “Would you design your rendition of the ideal GT for us?” The official Vision Gran Turismo catalogue lists entries and associates them with specific game titles, so availability is model-specific rather than guaranteed across the whole catalogue.
10 standout Vision Gran Turismo concepts
1. Ferrari Vision Gran Turismo
Ferrari’s single-seat concept is imagined for virtual motorsport and draws on the marque’s sports-prototype heritage. Its concept description gives the engine output as 1,030 CV, with three electric motors adding 240 kW. Those are manufacturer-published concept specifications, not independently tested or production-car figures. Ferrari stands out here for combining a focused racing layout with an explicitly hybrid power concept. Gran Turismo’s Ferrari Vision Gran Turismo description provides the stated figures.

2. Porsche Vision Gran Turismo
Porsche describes this as its first concept study made specifically for a computer game. The electric racing-car premise is paired with manufacturer-stated figures of 820 kW peak power—or 950 kW with overboost and launch control—and 0–100 km/h in 2.1 seconds. These are Porsche’s concept data, not results from a comparable independent test. It earns its place for making the digital setting part of the design brief rather than treating the car as a preview of a production model. Porsche Newsroom’s 2021 announcement gives the concept details.
3. Bugatti Vision Gran Turismo
Bugatti’s entry is especially significant because it crossed from the virtual catalogue into a physical show car. The marque presented it at the 2015 Frankfurt motor show, connecting its visual identity to Bugatti’s racing history in the 1920s and 1930s. That blend of digital concept and tangible show-car presence makes it one of the project’s clearest bridges between game design and the automotive world. Bugatti’s announcement documents its debut.
4. Chevrolet Chaparral 2X Vision Gran Turismo
The Chaparral 2X is a memorable catalogue entry for its unusual identity within the project. The official catalogue confirms the car’s name and publication date, but the available evidence here does not establish a reliable propulsion description. Its place on this list is therefore about its singular concept-car presence, not an unverified technical claim.
Rank #2
- 1/18 Diecast Model Car
- Opening front doors, hood and trunk, steerable wheels and rubber tires
- Made of Diecast with some plastic parts
- Great for collection ,gift to your family and friends
5. Mazda LM55 Vision Gran Turismo
The LM55 is a strong pick for readers drawn to racing-prototype-inspired concepts. The official catalogue confirms the entry and its place in the series, but does not establish further design or engineering specifics here. That limited claim still makes it a useful example of how Vision Gran Turismo gives manufacturers room to imagine a competition-minded GT.

McLaren’s Ultimate Vision Gran Turismo belongs on a shortlist of concepts that push toward an extreme, future-facing interpretation of the project. The official catalogue confirms the entry and its publication within the series; no performance figures are asserted here. Its appeal is the idea of a deliberately ambitious digital concept, rather than any claim that it previews a road-going McLaren.
7. Aston Martin DP-100 Vision Gran Turismo
The DP-100 is Aston Martin’s luxury-performance entry in the Vision Gran Turismo catalogue. The catalogue confirms the model name and its 2014 publication. Without additional verified maker detail, the most useful way to place it is as an early expression of the project’s invitation for brands to imagine their own ideal GT.
Rank #3
- Brand new box. Real rubber tires. Has steerable wheels. Officially licensed product. Made of diecast with some plastic parts. Has opening hatch and engine compartment. Detailed interior, exterior, engine compartment. Dimensions approximately L-10.5, W-4.75, H-2.5 inches.
8. Toyota FT-1 Vision Gran Turismo
Toyota’s FT-1 Vision Gran Turismo connects the project to the FT-1 sports-car concept. The official catalogue lists the VGT entry, and Toyota’s newsroom documents an FT-1 “Vision GT” race concept made available in Gran Turismo 6. That link to a named concept and a specific game appearance gives it a clear place in the series’ history.
9. Jaguar Vision Gran Turismo Coupé
The Jaguar Vision Gran Turismo Coupé is a modern Jaguar interpretation of a sports-car concept. The official catalogue also lists related Roadster and SV entries, making the Coupé part of a broader family rather than an isolated name. Specific design and performance claims are not included here without individual manufacturer confirmation.

The Genesis X Gran Berlinetta is a more recent catalogue entry and shows that Vision Gran Turismo continued into a newer generation of concepts. The official catalogue lists the concept and its publication date. It should not be confused with the later X Gran Racer derivative; the selection here is specifically the X Gran Berlinetta Vision Gran Turismo Concept.

- Die-cast metal body with plastic parts
- Opening doors and engine compartment
- Adjustable seat back on some models
- Full function steering with Four wheel spring suspension
- Detailed chassis with separate exhaust system
Where can you drive Vision Gran Turismo cars?
Vision Gran Turismo cars are tied to particular Gran Turismo game titles, and the official catalogue identifies appearances by model. Gran Turismo 7 is one relevant way to experience the concepts that it includes, but not every VGT entry should be assumed to appear in that game. Check the catalogue entry for the specific car before choosing a game or expecting it to be available.
How this shortlist was chosen
“Coolest” is a judgment, not an official award. The selection balances four qualities: a distinctive visual identity, a meaningful relationship to the maker’s heritage, an unusual engineering idea where supported by a source, and significance beyond the game when a physical show car exists. The list is not a performance ranking: the available figures come from different concept descriptions, not a common independent test, and there is no established comparable lap-time table for these cars.
