These are 20 worthwhile iPhone games you can download without an upfront App Store charge, spanning competitive multiplayer, RPGs, cards, racing, and offline-friendly play. “Free” usually means free to download—not free of ads, optional purchases, or other monetization. This is an editorial selection for the US App Store, not a snapshot of its changing Top Free chart.
Each pick notes what is known about connectivity and purchases. For details that can change—including ads, age ratings, device requirements, and offline features—check the current App Store listing before downloading.
What “free” means on iPhone
On an App Store product page, a Get button means there is no upfront charge to download the app. A free download can still include ads, in-app purchases, subscriptions, paid currency, or features that encourage spending. Apple explains the distinction in its guide to apps and in-app purchases; its description of freemium games likewise distinguishes free access from optional purchases.
That is different from a demo or free trial that unlocks only part of a paid game, and from Apple Arcade, which is a subscription service. None of the 20 picks below is included just because it may have a separate Arcade edition.

- 【Strong Adsorption】The inspiration of the silicone phone suction case comes from the adhesive force of the octopus. Each suction cup phone mount is 3.15 inches long and 2.17 inches wide, with 24 independent suction cups providing a stronger and more stable suction force, so you don't have to worry about your phone falling during use.
- 【Back of Phone Suction Grip】Remove the adhesive film on the phone suction cup and stick it on the phone case. You can then fix the phone on any smooth surface, which is very convenient. (The phone suction cup cannot be removed and reused after being attached to the phone case. It is recommended to attach it to a regular phone case, not a valuable one.)
- 【Widely Used】Our non-slip silicone phone sticky grip mount attaches to almost any flat phone case and make it compatible with common mobile phones such as iPhone and Android. You can shoot, watch videos or video calls in the kitchen, gym, dance studio, bathroom and other places.
- 【Capture the Wonderful Picture】Whether you are a TikTok creator or just like to share videos and photos, this phone suction cup can help you hands-free capture wonderful videos and photos for sharing with friends.
- 【Note】You can fix the phone suction cup on a smooth surface such as a mirror or glass. If necessary, wipe the suction cup with a damp cloth to obtain stronger suction. Before releasing your hand, make sure the phone is firmly fixed. (Not applicable to rough walls, wooden surfaces, and other uneven surfaces)

20 free iPhone games worth trying
“Offline” here is deliberately cautious: it means the game has a solo or offline-friendly use described in the available information, not a guarantee that every mode, event, save, or feature works without a connection. The App Store links below are US search pages, so confirm the correct title and developer before installing.
1. Roblox — best for variety
Roblox is a platform for user-created experiences, so one download can lead to obstacle courses, adventures, racing, simulations, and social games. That breadth makes it a strong pick when you want variety rather than one fixed campaign.
- Free model: Free download; Robux, paid items, and experiences are part of its ecosystem.
- Connection: Primarily online.
- Watch for: User-generated content and social interaction make supervision and account settings important for younger players. Do not assume every experience has the same content or audience.

2. Brawl Stars — best for quick competitive matches
Brawl Stars is built around fast rounds and multiple modes, making it easier to fit into a short break than a long-form multiplayer game.
- Free model: Free-to-play, with battle passes, cosmetics, and optional purchases.
- Connection: Online multiplayer.
- Watch for: Progression and seasonal offers can make the game feel more purchase-focused than a one-off arcade game.

- Connection: Online play.
- Watch for: The game is among the more demanding choices here; consider storage, battery use, heat, and cellular data before downloading or playing for long sessions. Controller support can vary, so check the current listing and game documentation if it matters to you.

- Free model: Free-to-play, with gacha-based character and item purchases.
- Connection: Online.
- Watch for: It requires substantial storage and a reasonably capable iPhone. The randomised acquisition model may be a poor fit if you want to avoid purchase prompts or collection-based spending.

Outbyte PC Repair FREEClear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →Outbyte Driver Updater FREEScan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →How to choose a game with less purchase pressure
There is no universal “least monetized” ranking established for these games, and the free model can change. As a practical starting point, consider a simple solo or arcade game such as Crossy Road, or try Vampire Survivors if its current edition and purchase disclosures suit you. By contrast, collection and progression games—including Genshin Impact, Pokémon GO, Magic: The Gathering Arena, Hearthstone, Clash Royale, Brawl Stars, Call of Duty: Mobile, and Roblox—include more prominent purchase systems in the descriptions above.
Before installing, check the product page’s in-app purchase disclosures and the game’s own purchase settings. The word “free” alone does not tell you whether purchases are cosmetic, speed up progression, expand a collection, or unlock content.
Offline play: what to check
For games that can work without a connection, distinguish the core solo game from online events, multiplayer, purchases, cloud saves, and other services. Apple’s US iPhone Games page includes an offline-oriented selection with Crossy Road, Vampire Survivors, Good Pizza, Great Pizza, and Fallout Shelter among its recommendations, as well as titles such as Wordscapes and Blackbox. That makes it a useful discovery surface, not a guarantee that every feature in every game works offline after every update.
If offline access matters, install the game and test its intended mode before relying on it during travel. The App Store’s US Top Free chart is a separate, changeable ranking—not a measure of offline capability or quality.

To maintain the grip and prevent accidental falls, it's a good practice to periodically reapply pressure to the suction cup.
iPhone performance, storage, and data
Large online games such as Genshin Impact, Call of Duty: Mobile, Asphalt Legends Unite, and League of Legends: Wild Rift are more demanding choices than a simple arcade game. Roblox performance can also vary with the experience being played. An older iPhone may load more slowly, run at a lower frame rate, get warm, or drain its battery faster; exact requirements depend on the current app version and device.
- Use Wi-Fi for initial downloads and large updates when possible.
- Check the current product page for compatibility and size; the download size and installed size can differ.
- Allow for updates and additional content, especially in live-service games.
- If performance or battery life becomes uncomfortable, reduce play time or choose a less demanding title rather than assuming every iPhone runs every game equally well.
Games for children and families
Crossy Road has simple controls and broad family appeal, while Subway Surfers is an approachable runner. Roblox offers much more variety, but its user-created experiences and social features mean that parents should review the experience, account, and available controls rather than treating the whole platform as uniformly child-friendly. Pokémon GO uses location services, and purchases are possible across many games on this list.
Before a child plays, review the current App Store age rating and privacy disclosures, the game’s chat and social settings, ads, and purchase options. Apple provides information on Family Sharing and family tools. A free download can still create purchase exposure, so check account purchase permissions and Screen Time settings on the device.
When Apple Arcade is a better fit
Apple Arcade is not a permanently free alternative: it is a subscription service. Apple describes Arcade games as having no ads or in-app purchases within the Arcade service, which can suit players who would rather pay for access than deal with typical free-to-play monetization. The regular App Store edition of a game can have a different model from its Arcade edition, so do not assume their terms match.
What’s actually slowing this PC down?
Pick the symptom - the matching free tool is one click away.
Apple’s June 2026 newsroom announcement cited a US price of $6.99 per month, a one-month free trial, and access for up to six family members; it also mentioned a three-month offer with qualifying new-device purchases. Offers and pricing can change, so check Apple Arcade’s current page before subscribing. The service is a poor fit if you only want one particular free-to-play multiplayer game.
How to prevent accidental purchases
- Check the listing before download. Review the current in-app purchase disclosures and age rating on the product page, not just the Get button.
- Review purchase permissions. Use the iPhone’s Screen Time and family purchase controls to set restrictions appropriate to the device and account.
- Check in-game settings. Look for purchase prompts, subscriptions, and spending controls, particularly in games with paid currency or collection systems.
- Ask before buying. If a game is for a child, agree on whether any purchases are allowed before play begins.
How to confirm a game is still free
Open the game’s current US App Store product page and look for the Get button. Apple explains that a Get button indicates a free download, while a price indicates an upfront charge; also read the listing’s in-app purchase information. Availability, age ratings, device compatibility, and purchase disclosures can differ by country and change over time, so a search result or an old recommendation is not a substitute for the current product page.
