The EWC closing ceremony took place on Sunday, 25 August 2024, where Team Falcons became the first Club Champion. The organizer confirms the awards were showcased during the same weekend, but does not specify that they were presented at the precise moment the competition concluded.
How the Esports Awards fit into the EWC finale
The Esports World Cup Foundation said the 2024 Esports Awards were showcased during the EWC’s closing weekend. That makes the headline’s “as … concludes” a reference to the shared program and timing, not evidence that the awards presentation coincided with the closing ceremony itself.
The closing ceremony was held Sunday, 25 August 2024, at The Venue near Boulevard City in Riyadh. The official attendee guide described access by car, taxi, or ride-share; visitors already at the EWC site in Boulevard City could walk about ten minutes or take a short drive to The Venue. These details describe the 2024 event, not logistics for a future edition.
Team Falcons won the inaugural Club Championship
At the closing ceremony, Team Falcons received the Club Championship Trophy and $7 million, becoming the first EWC Club Champion. Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman presented the trophy to Falcons chairman and co-founder Mosaad AlDossary, according to the Foundation.

The available event announcement establishes the awards’ place in the closing-weekend program, but not their exact presentation time relative to the closing ceremony. The Esports Awards’ official archive is described as containing past winners, nominees, highlights, and media, but a category-by-category list of 2024 winners is not established here.
