For a QPR career in Football Manager 2024, start by checking your save’s database, then build around three roles: a creative focal point, a dependable core player and a high-upside development project. Ilias Chair is the supported creative candidate; the available evidence does not establish two other names as definitive picks, so verify those roles in your chosen database rather than treating an unverified shortlist as fact.
Which FM24 database do these recommendations assume?
These are recommendations for an FM24 save, not claims about QPR’s current real-world squad. Sports Interactive’s Main Data Update was announced on 29 February 2024. The publisher said it changed squads, player attributes and Current Ability ratings, while noting that some licensed-league rosters reflected the end of the 2023 season rather than 2024 transfers. Its announcement described the refresh as containing “more than six million data changes.” That figure counts data changes; it is not a measure of player quality. Read Sports Interactive’s update announcement.
Use the database version you intend to play as the reference point. A player’s presence, attributes, rating or availability can differ between the original database and the Main Data Update. The EFL’s 2023/24 QPR squad list is useful evidence of squad membership for that season, but it does not settle what appears in every FM24 database. See the EFL’s 2023/24 squad list.
1. Creative focal point: Ilias Chair
Chair is the clearest supported candidate for a QPR save built around creativity. The EFL included him in its 2023/24 QPR in-squad list, and a third-party FM24 QPR guide identifies him as an attacking midfielder. That makes him a natural player to assess for a central creator role, subject to what his attributes and condition look like in your selected database.

The guide reports an in-game value of £6m. Treat that as the guide’s database-specific estimate, not an official valuation or a guaranteed price in every save. It does not, by itself, establish that Chair is QPR’s best player or one of the three strongest options. See the Sortitoutsi QPR FM24 guide.
2. Dependable core: verify the best fit in your save
The evidence available here does not substantiate a second named player as a top QPR choice in FM24. To find a dependable core player, inspect the squad in your database and look for someone whose current ability, attributes and preferred position suit a role your tactic needs every week. A strong fit may be more valuable than a higher-rated player who duplicates another role or cannot be used consistently.

- Check current ability and the attributes tied to the intended role.
- Look at position familiarity and whether the player fits your formation.
- Review availability in the save, including fitness and any constraints you encounter.
3. Development project: choose for potential and runway
No second named candidate or comparable potential figure is established by the cited sources. For a development pick, use the save’s own information to identify a younger player with room to improve and a plausible route into the first team. Potential alone is not enough: weigh it against current ability, age, position, role fit and the opportunities your squad can provide.
- Compare the player’s current ability and potential in the same database.
- Check whether the player can get meaningful minutes in a position you need to cover.
- Consider whether development requires a loan or can happen within your squad.
How to check your three picks before committing
- Confirm the database: note whether your save uses the original FM24 database or the Main Data Update.
- Open QPR’s squad: review positions and attributes in the active save rather than assuming a guide’s roster or figures apply unchanged.
- Assign three distinct jobs: select a creator, a dependable core player and a development project; avoid choosing three players for the same tactical function.
- Compare the candidates: assess role suitability, current ability, potential, age and practical availability together. Do not infer a top-three ranking from a single valuation or position label.
The EFL list supports Chair’s QPR squad membership for 2023/24, while the role label and £6m value come from a third-party FM24 guide. Neither source provides a comparable ranking of QPR’s players across current ability, potential and availability, so the latter two recommendations are selection criteria rather than named, verified picks.
