1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFor a Swansea City save in Football Manager 2024, Carl Rushworth, Charlie Patino and Charles Sagoe make a balanced three-player shortlist: a goalkeeper, a defensive midfielder and an attacking midfielder. This is a practical selection by squad role, not a definitive ranking—available player listings do not provide enough comparable attributes to establish Swansea’s “best” three.
Which FM24 database does this shortlist use?
This article uses the final FM24 data update as its reference point. Sports Interactive’s 29 February 2024 main update included more than six million database changes, including updated squads and changes to player ratings and attributes; a new save was required to use it (Sports Interactive, 29 February 2024). The final update, announced on 9 April 2024, included more than 400,000 database changes and likewise required a new save to access the latest player and team data (Sports Interactive, 9 April 2024). Those totals describe the updates across the game, not changes specific to Swansea.
If you are continuing an existing save, it will not acquire the final update’s latest player and team data; you need to start a new save with that database. The player ages and estimated values below are from Sortitoutsi’s FM24 Swansea listing. The guide does not identify which database update its figures reflect, so treat them as reference listings rather than guaranteed in-game transfer prices or proof of current availability (Sortitoutsi’s Swansea FM24 guide).
The three Swansea players to build around
| Player | Listed position | Listed age | Estimated value | Why include him |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Carl Rushworth | Goalkeeper | 22 | £17m | A goalkeeper option for the foundation of the squad. |
| Charlie Patino | Defensive midfielder | 19 | £13m | A young central option to assess in the holding or defensive-midfield role. |
| Charles Sagoe | Attacking midfielder | 18 | £7m | A young attacking option for a squad plan that includes an attacking midfielder. |
Ages, positions and estimated values are Sortitoutsi listing figures, not guarantees of performance, development or accepted bids. Since the listing does not provide comparable player attributes, these players are best assessed as options for distinct roles rather than ranked against one another.
#1 Best Overall
Carl Rushworth: goalkeeper
Rushworth is the goalkeeper pick. A keeper is a natural place to begin if you want a shortlist that spans the pitch, but the listing alone cannot tell you whether his attributes suit a particular defensive line, distribution style or tactical system. Check his in-game profile against the role you plan to use before building the rest of your recruitment around him.
Charlie Patino: defensive midfielder
Patino gives the shortlist a young central option in defensive midfield. Consider him if your squad plan calls for a player in that position, then compare his in-game attributes with the responsibilities your formation assigns there. The listed £13m is an estimated value, not evidence that Swansea can sign him for that amount.

Charles Sagoe: attacking midfielder
Sagoe is the attacking-midfield choice and the youngest of the three in the listing, at 18. That makes him a candidate to evaluate for a youth-focused squad, not a guarantee of a particular development path or tactical fit. His listed estimated value is £7m; the source does not establish his availability or an actual transfer fee.

These three names give you a goalkeeper, a defensive midfielder and an attacking midfielder to assess. Whether they belong at the centre of your own Swansea build depends on your formation, squad needs and the attributes shown in your chosen database. The third-party FM24 guide identifies Swansea as a Sky Bet Championship team and lists a £560k transfer budget, a £321k wage budget, great training facilities and adequate youth academy facilities; treat those as guide-specific FM24 figures, not universal values across database versions (Sortitoutsi’s Swansea FM24 guide).

Use the estimated values as a starting reference when reviewing the squad, not as evidence that a player can be bought at that price. For a genuine tactical comparison, inspect the players’ attributes in your save and judge them against the roles and formation you intend to use.
