This guide pairs ten games named in Pro Game Guides’ January 2025 roundup of its 2024 picks with 20 additional genre-based recommendations cited by Roblox. The longer list is an editorial curation, not a 2024 ranking.
How to read this list
Pro Game Guides described its ten picks as ranked by gameplay experience and popularity. That is the outlet’s editorial judgment, not a universal consensus. The remaining recommendations broaden the selection using examples Roblox highlighted across genres; they are not certified by Roblox as “best” games.
Roblox’s Most Popular chart is a live list based on games’ current player counts. It can help you find what people are playing now, but it cannot establish a game’s 2024 rank. Roblox says most experiences are free, while some require paid access; check the individual experience page for current access details and suitability.

As Roblox vice president Tian Lim put it, “What we call ‘roleplaying/lifesim’ is a genre unique to Roblox that emerged as a result of our long-term investment in real-time co-experience and real-world simulations.”
Roleplay and life simulation

- Welcome to Bloxburg: A life-simulation choice for players drawn to domestic roleplay and routines.
- Work at a Pizza Place: A work-and-cooperation setting for players who enjoy taking on jobs together.

What popularity data can—and cannot—tell you
Roblox’s Q1 2024 figures provide a clue to what players were searching for by genre, not which individual games were best or most played. The company reported 14 million searches related to open-world action, 13.5 million related to sports, and nearly 12.5 million related to driving and racing globally. These are platform search totals, not unique players, concurrent users, or game rankings.

Roblox also reported 79.5 million daily active users as of June 30, 2024, and said 25 experiences had more than 1 million daily active users in Q2 2024. Those are platform-wide figures; they do not identify which recommendations in this article reached those thresholds.
