As of October 2026, several notable driving-game releases announced for this year are no longer upcoming. The strongest confirmed picks span open-world driving, stock-car racing, Formula racing content and simulation racing—but the available official announcements establish only four candidates, not the five implied by this title. Here’s what each offers and its current status.

Forza Horizon 6: open-world driving in Japan
Playground Games announced Forza Horizon 6 for Xbox Series X|S and PC on May 19, 2026. Premium Edition early access began May 15. Xbox describes a large Japan-set open world, more than 550 real-world cars, Touge Battles and Game Pass access. Those are Xbox’s stated features, not a third-party assessment of the game. NASCAR 26: stock-car racing
NASCAR and iRacing Studios announced a September 18, 2026 launch for PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC via Steam. That announced date has passed; check the official NASCAR announcement and current storefront listings for availability. The announcement calls out Dynamic Track technology, cross-platform multiplayer, revised tire and braking models, an enhanced driving model and a Peak Performance training mode. These are announced features, not review findings.

F1 25: 2026 Season Pack: Formula racing content, not a new standalone game
EA announced the F1 25 2026 Season Pack for June 3, 2026 on PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC. It is an add-on for F1 25, not a separate full game. EA says it introduces 2026 teams including Audi and Cadillac. See EA’s announcement for the pack’s details.
Project Motor Racing: a simulation-racing option
GIANTS Software’s press center reports a June 23, 2026 release for Project Motor Racing and further content planned for 2026 through its Year 1 Season Pass. Start with the kind of driving you want, then check the current product status and platform before buying.
- Open-world exploration: Forza Horizon 6 is the Japan-set option.
- Stock-car racing: NASCAR 26 is the NASCAR-focused entry.
- Formula racing: The F1 25 Season Pack is relevant if you already play F1 25 and want its announced 2026-season content.
- Simulation racing: Project Motor Racing is the simulation candidate in this group.

Why this list has four entries, not five
The title promises five games, but the confirmed official material supports only four distinct candidates. Adding another title without a reliable source would risk giving readers an invented or misdated pick. The four entries also are not all full games: the F1 25 item is a season pack. Treat this as a verified cross-section of 2026 driving releases and content, not a definitive ranking or complete five-game shortlist.
