Businesses can use video to build awareness, explain what they sell, attract qualified visitors and leads, support purchase decisions, and help customers after a sale. The useful question is not whether video gets views, but whether a particular video helps its audience take a meaningful next step.
In Wyzowl’s 2026 report, based on 266 marketers and online consumers surveyed in late 2025, 91% of businesses said they use video as a marketing tool. The reported outcomes below are marketers’ survey responses—not proof that video alone caused growth. Wyzowl’s 2026 Video Marketing Statistics
1. Build brand awareness
Video gives people a way to encounter a business before they are ready to buy. A short social clip can introduce a brand, while a founder story or concise explainer can make its purpose and offer easier to remember. Choose one recognizable message rather than trying to explain the entire business in every video.
What to make and measure
- Formats: a brief brand story, a behind-the-scenes introduction, or a short video that explains who the business serves.
- Distribution: publish where the intended audience already spends time, and make the opening clear enough to work for viewers unfamiliar with the brand.
- Measure: reach and awareness are more relevant than sales for an introductory video. Views alone show exposure, not whether viewers remember the brand or become customers.
In Wyzowl’s 2026 survey, 93% of video marketers said video had helped increase brand awareness. That is a reported experience, not a guaranteed outcome for every company.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
2. Explain a product or service
A demonstration can show what a product does, how a service works, or how a customer can get started. This is especially useful when an offer is difficult to understand from a headline or list of features. Show the actual steps or result, and use narration or captions to clarify what viewers are seeing.
What to make and measure
- Formats: a product demo, service walkthrough, setup guide, or explainer that answers one specific question.
- Distribution: place it on the relevant product or service page and share it with prospects who need that explanation.
- Measure: assess whether viewers understand the offer—for example, with a concise comprehension question or by tracking whether they proceed to a relevant next step.
Wyzowl reports that 93% of video marketers said video helped increase user understanding of their product or service. In the same report, 96% of surveyed people said they had watched an explainer video to learn more about a product or service. These figures describe survey responses, not a promise that a particular explainer will improve comprehension.
3. Attract qualified traffic and generate leads
Useful videos can introduce a business to people seeking answers to a problem. A tutorial, comparison, or practical tip can earn attention; a clear next step can then direct interested viewers to a relevant page, signup, or conversation. The destination should continue the subject of the video rather than send every viewer to a generic homepage.

What to make and measure
- Formats: educational videos, how-to demonstrations, or answers to common questions from prospective customers.
- Next step: offer a relevant guide, product page, consultation, or signup, and explain what the viewer will find there.
- Measure: track qualified visits, click-throughs, and leads—not just total views. Check whether those leads fit the audience the business can serve.
In Wyzowl’s 2026 report, 82% of video marketers said video helped increase web traffic and 85% said it helped generate leads. These are marketers’ reported results; they do not establish that any video or channel will produce the same outcome.
4. Help prospects decide and sell
When a prospect is comparing options, a video can address objections that a broad brand message cannot. A focused demo can show the offer in use; a customer story can illustrate a relevant experience. Keep claims specific and supportable, and explain who the offer suits as well as what it does.
What to make and measure
- Formats: a sales demonstration, a comparison focused on meaningful differences, or a customer story that answers a common concern.
- Placement: use the video near the product details, proposal, or conversation where the question arises.
- Measure: connect exposure to subsequent sales with an appropriate attribution method. A view or click by itself does not show that the video caused a purchase.
Wyzowl reports that 83% of video marketers said video had directly increased sales; separately, 85% of surveyed people said a video had convinced them to buy a product or service. Both figures are survey responses, not independently verified causal effects or a predicted conversion lift for an individual business.

5. Educate and support customers
Video can help customers complete onboarding, set up a product, or solve a recurring problem without starting from scratch each time. Organize instructions around the task a customer needs to finish, and make it easy to find the relevant step. For complex or changing processes, review the video when the product or instructions change.
What to make and measure
- Formats: onboarding sequences, setup walkthroughs, troubleshooting steps, and short answers to frequent questions.
- Access: add videos to help pages, onboarding messages, or support replies where customers need them.
- Measure: look at completion or engagement alongside repeat support queries and customer retention. A fall in support volume is not guaranteed; a useful video may also help customers solve issues they might otherwise leave unresolved.
In Wyzowl’s 2026 survey, 57% of video marketers said video had helped reduce support queries. That is a reported experience, not a promise of lower support volume for every business.

Choose a goal before choosing a format
Start with the audience’s need and the business result the video should support. Then choose a format and a measure that can credibly indicate progress. The available measures are not interchangeable: a high view count cannot by itself demonstrate more leads, sales, or customer understanding.

| Understanding | Product demo or explainer | Comprehension or product understanding |

Wyzowl reports that marketers use several ways to quantify video ROI: views (67%), engagement (63%), leads or clicks (52%), customer engagement and retention (40%), brand awareness or PR (36%), and bottom-line sales (32%). The measures answer different questions; none, on its own, establishes incremental impact. Wyzowl’s report
For B2B video specifically, LinkedIn Marketing Solutions’ 2025 benchmark identifies awareness, trust, and conversions as leading goals. It names engagement rate, total views, and click-through rates among commonly used measures. The report attributes its research to Ipsos in March 2025; this is a B2B benchmark, not a universal ranking for every business. LinkedIn Marketing Solutions’ B2B video report

Prioritize clear sound and usable light
For a simple talking-head video or demonstration, a smartphone may be enough. YouTube’s mobile filming guidance recommends soft, even lighting to help the camera sensor retain detail, and suggests considering an external microphone in a noisy environment. A lavalier microphone for smartphone recording is one optional approach; check compatibility with the phone before buying. YouTube’s nonprofit video resource also describes lavalier audio and notes that phone footage with basic adjustments can be sufficient. Plan for the viewer’s next step
- Write down the one question the video answers and the audience it is for.
- Show the product, process, or example instead of relying only on claims.
- Use captions or on-screen labels when viewers may watch without sound.
- End with a relevant action that matches the video’s goal.
- Review the video when product details, instructions, or offers change.
Use video where the business can sustain it
A video’s value depends on fit: the audience needs to encounter it, the content needs to answer a real question, and the business needs a way to assess what happened next. Start with one business objective and one video that addresses it. If it works for the audience and the team can maintain it, expand the format or distribution; if it does not, revise the content or the intended measure rather than treating more views as the automatic answer.
Or let it run in the cloud
For a business that wants an uploaded video to keep a YouTube channel live, StreamNeo runs the loop from the cloud: upload a recording or build a playlist, add the YouTube stream key, and go live. Nothing has to stay on at home; it plays uploaded videos rather than going live from a camera. It accepts uploads as made, up to 4K 60fps, at one price per slot, with no re-encode or quality tiers. It automatically recovers if YouTube drops the stream. The first day is free with no card, one free day per account. Monthly billing is $9.99 per month. Start a StreamNeo free day.
