If you’re new to Farming Simulator 25, start small: learn the menus, choose one kind of farm work to focus on, and check what land you own before planning your next move. GIANTS Software’s official tutorials and beginner aids can help you understand the basics without committing to every system at once.
1. Learn the menus before you expand
It’s easy to feel lost when a farming game puts machinery, land, crops, animals, and construction in front of you at once. Give yourself room to explore the interface before trying to optimize your farm. GIANTS Software’s Farming Simulator Academy includes tutorials on settings, save games, the HUD and menus, shops, and build mode.

These guides can help you find the information and tools you need as you play. You don’t have to memorize everything up front; use the tutorials as a reference when a new task or menu leaves you unsure what to do next.
2. Choose one kind of farm work to learn first
The game offers three broad starting directions: arable farming, animal husbandry, and forestry. They involve different routines, equipment, and learning demands, so choose the one whose day-to-day work appeals to you rather than chasing a supposedly universal best route.

| Path | Work to expect | Beginner consideration |
|---|---|---|
| Arable farming | Prepare fields, sow or plant crops, care for them, and harvest. | A clear sequence of field tasks makes it a natural way to learn the core farming loop. |
| Animal husbandry | Care for animals and manage their products. | Choose it if animal care and product routines sound more appealing than focusing mainly on field operations. |
| Forestry | Plant, fell, and handle timber. | GIANTS’ manual notes that forestry has skill and budget demands; it is not an effortless beginner-income shortcut. |
GIANTS describes production chains and construction as ways to extend a farm. You can add them later, once you have a better feel for the work and systems you want to manage.
3. Check land ownership before you work or build
Land is more than space on the map: it determines where you can carry out much of your plan. According to the Farming Simulator 25 manual, you generally cannot work or build on land you don’t own. Contract work is the stated exception.
Before setting up a field or choosing a construction site, check that the parcel belongs to you. The manual also notes that you can buy or sell land, so ownership can change as your plans and budget do.

4. Look at nearby small fields before expanding far away
If money is limited, nearby parcels may be worth considering before a distant expansion. GIANTS’ manual points out that combining small fields close to one another can be useful when starting with limited funds. Treat that as an option to evaluate against your own plan, not a guaranteed way to make more money.
Recommended Free Tools
Think about how a purchase fits the work you have chosen and the land you already own. More acreage can mean more work as well as more room to farm.
5. Learn crop work as a sequence
Field farming becomes easier to follow when you break it into stages instead of treating “grow a crop” as one action. The Academy has separate tutorials for field work, including preparation, seeding or planting, fertilization, weeds, soil, and crop-specific sowing and harvesting.

- Take on the role of a modern farmer and creative build your farm in three diverse American and European environments. Farming Simulator 22 offers a huge variety of farming operations focusing on agriculture, animal husbandry and forestry
- Prepare: Learn the field-preparation work and the implement needed for your chosen task. The manual gives a cultivator as an example of equipment used to prepare a field before sowing.
- Sow or plant: Follow the crop-specific guidance for getting the crop into the field.
- Care for the crop: Use the Academy’s material on fertilization, weeds, and soil to understand the next decisions.
- Harvest: Plan for the appropriate machinery and timing. The manual notes that with seasonal growth enabled, you can lease a harvester for the harvest season; that is an option, not proof that leasing is always cheaper or better.
For specific crop steps, consult the Academy’s field-work and crop tutorials rather than assuming every crop follows an identical process.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.6. Try the helpers, then decide how much automation you want
GIANTS identifies several beginner-support features in Farming Simulator 25: improved interface information, tutoring non-player characters, a GPS-based steering assistant, and improved AI workers. They can help make unfamiliar tasks more approachable while you learn.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches2Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems3Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteTry them when a task feels difficult or repetitive, but use as much or as little automation as fits the experience you want. They are aids, not a requirement to play in one particular way.

- 30 vehicles from official manufacturers, in 3 categories: UTV, ATV, Rock Bouncer
- 5 types of races: off-road sprint, off-road circuit, hill climb, obstacle course, closed circuit
- Official manufacturers, equipment and sponsors and a comprehensive career mode with team and calendar management
- 4 types of environments: desert, forest, mountain, circuits

7. Add systems gradually
Once you understand your first routine, decide whether you want to take on another. Production chains and construction offer ways to broaden a farm, while forestry brings its own equipment, skills, and budget considerations. Trying to learn every branch at once can turn a relaxed start into a stack of unfamiliar decisions.
Use the Academy’s tutorial overview to choose a next topic when you are ready. Its coverage includes seasonal cycles, AI helpers, animal care, silage and total mixed ration, forestry, and machinery, alongside the introductory material.
