The wireless version lists 2.4G connectivity for Windows and Bluetooth for Android; the wired edition is a direct-connection option for Windows and Android. Neither official listing names PlayStation, Xbox, or Nintendo console support.
What is the 8BitDo Black Myth: Wukong controller?
It is a co-branded version of 8BitDo’s Ultimate 2C, designed around the game and its Journey to the West inspiration. 8BitDo’s product page also alludes to the Jingubang, the staff associated with Sun Wukong. The official product listing identifies the collaboration as the Ultimate 2C, while the manufacturer’s support pages distinguish wireless and wired editions: 8BitDo Ultimate 2C Black Myth: Wukong and 8BitDo support.
Wireless or wired: which edition fits your setup?
| Edition | Connections listed by 8BitDo | Listed operating-system compatibility | Best fit |
|---|---|---|---|
| Wireless | 2.4G on Windows; Bluetooth on Android; wired connection on Windows | Windows 10 (1903) and above; Android 9.0 and above | Windows players who want 2.4G wireless, or Android players using Bluetooth |
| Wired | Wired use on Windows and Android | Windows 10 (1903) and above; Android 9.0 and above | Players whose setup suits a direct wired connection |
These are the connections and compatibility details given in 8BitDo’s product and support listings. The product page contains repeated feature and specification blocks, so its edition-specific connection details are more useful than treating every mode as available on every version. Neither edition’s cited listing establishes compatibility with PlayStation, Xbox, or Nintendo consoles.
What features does 8BitDo advertise?
- Hall Effect joysticks and triggers: 8BitDo lists these as controller features. The product page does not provide independent durability testing.
- Remappable R4/L4 bumpers: The extra bumpers can be configured for personalized controls. 8BitDo says they can be mapped without software; its claim that they help players react faster is marketing language, not an independently verified performance result.
- Turbo: The product page lists a turbo function.
How to read the 1000 Hz polling-rate claim
8BitDo advertises a 1000 Hz polling rate over 2.4G and wired connections. The asterisk on its page qualifies this as ideal-environment data from 8BitDo’s lab. It is a manufacturer claim, not an independent measurement or a guarantee of the rate in every setup.
