Which area should you search first?
Beebom recommends the Freaky Fields and Nightmare Neighborhood area as a dense drop region. That can make it an efficient place to look, but the guide also warns that it may be contested. If you want a quieter landing, weigh the route from the Battle Bus against the listed density and keep another possible spawn nearby as a fallback.
How to open a Pumpkin Chest
Epic describes Pumpkin Chests as a way to find Sprites scattered across the island. Beebom’s guide says to approach a chest and hold the Interact input for a few seconds. Its examples are F on keyboard and Square or X on controller; your platform and custom bindings may use different controls. Beebom says an opened chest grants a weapon and a random Sprite.

Epic’s event post names Spooky Dash, Vampire, Deer, Dumpster Dive, and Honey and Obsession Sprites. The post marks Honey and Obsession for October 15, 2026; these Sprite details provide event context, not additional chest coordinates.
Why a listed spot may be empty
A map entry is a possible spawn, not a promise that a chest will appear in every match. Playnews cautions that a spot can be empty and advises choosing a backup location. Its shorter list names Lifty Lodge, Freaky Fields, Freddy Fazbear’s Pizzaria, Nightmare Neighborhood, and Shaken Sanctuary, while explicitly saying it is not exhaustive. It does not independently confirm Beebom’s 45-chest total.
What Epic confirms—and what it does not
Epic’s October 1, 2026 announcement establishes the Fortnitemares event context and identifies Freaky Fields and Nightmare Neighborhood as Battle Royale POIs. Epic’s Communities post confirms the Pumpkin Chest and Sprite mechanic. Neither official source publishes a location map or confirms the 45 reported chests, so the table should be used as a third-party guide rather than an official inventory.

Beebom reports that smashing a Pumpkin Chest completes a Fortnitemares quest and awards 15,000 XP, and that quest completion contributes toward the Jack-A-Nape skin. These are time-sensitive, secondary-source details; check the live in-game quest panel for the current objective and reward before relying on them.
