Is Pirates of the Burning Sea available on Steam yet? No. As of October 7, 2026, Steam has a new listing for the MMO, but marks it “Coming soon” and says it “is not yet available on Steam.” The listing gives no release date. The game remains playable through its official channels in the meantime.
What the Steam listing does—and doesn’t—mean
Steam names Vision Online Games as both developer and publisher. Its page describes an MMO set in the Caribbean around 1720, with tactical ship combat, boarding and dueling, trading, port conquest, and four sides: Britain, France, Spain, and pirates. It also lists “50+ Historical Ships.” These are features described on the store page, not independent assessments of gameplay.
The listing’s “Coming soon” label is not a launch announcement. No Steam release date is displayed, so there is no confirmed timetable to plan around.
How to play Pirates of the Burning Sea now
Vision Online Games says Pirates of the Burning Sea is fully operational and actively supported. Its official service offers two access routes, separate from the not-yet-available Steam listing:
#1 Best Overall
| Route | Access | How to launch |
|---|---|---|
| Live | Free-to-play | Use the official unified launcher. |
| Legacy | Subscription-based; requires the appropriate account access | Use the official unified launcher after confirming Legacy access on your account. |
The official game site distinguishes Live from Legacy, while the download page explains that the unified launcher installs, updates, and launches supported versions, including both. The launcher is the official way to access those versions; Steam availability is a separate matter.
Is there a Steam release date?
Not in the available Steam listing. The operator’s news index includes a post titled “Q1 2025 Next Steps,” but that title does not establish a Steam launch date or schedule. Check the official news index and Steam listing for an actual announcement rather than treating that older post title as a current timetable.
