Kingdom Hearts Collection [I–III] is a broad current-generation package that brings together the numbered games, several related stories and the Kingdom Hearts III: Re Mind DLC. Its strongest appeal is having that material in one place on Switch 2, PS5, Xbox Series X|S or Windows. It is not three collections of fully playable games, however: some included entries are movies or cutscene compilations. A hands-on review of the Switch 2 edition also reports performance and image-quality compromises in some situations.
What is in Kingdom Hearts Collection [I–III]?
Square Enix describes the package as “A value‑packed bundle featuring three collections: KINGDOM HEARTS -HD 1.5+2.5 ReMIX-, KINGDOM HEARTS HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue, and KINGDOM HEARTS III + Re Mind (DLC).” The three bundles combine playable games with film and cutscene-only material; the contents are not all full games.

That distinction matters when assessing value: the collection has a substantial amount of story material, but some of it is presented as film rather than something you play.
What does the Switch 2 review say?
Meristation reviewer Israel Mallén updated a hands-on review on October 5, 2026, and identifies the version reviewed as the Switch 2 edition. Mallén praises the size of the compilation and the appeal of playing the series natively and portably. The reported performance findings apply to that edition and are the reviewer’s observations, not results from an independent test.

These caveats are most relevant to Switch 2 buyers. The available review does not establish how the PS5, Xbox Series X|S or Windows editions perform, so it should not be treated as a verdict on those versions.
How does it compare with the older All-In-One Package?
The practical question for returning players is whether the new collection adds enough to justify buying material they may already own. The older PS4 All-In-One Package lists the 1.5+2.5 bundle, 2.8 and Kingdom Hearts III. The new collection includes Re Mind; Square Enix also lists a platform-exclusive Keyblade for each of the announced editions.

Mallén’s criticism is that the new compilation adds little content compared with earlier collections, apart from platform-exclusive Keyblades. That is a reasonable caution for owners of the older bundles: the new package consolidates much of the same core material rather than presenting a substantially different lineup. The added DLC and the convenience of moving to a current platform may matter, but the value depends on which games and add-ons you already have.
Sony’s US PlayStation Store page currently displays $99.99 for the digital PS4 All-In-One Package and gives its PS4 release date as March 27, 2019. That is a changing US listing, not a like-for-like price comparison with the new collection: region, format, sale status and DLC inclusion all affect the comparison. Square Enix announced a physical European PS4 edition of the All-In-One Package for June 12, 2025.

Which edition should you choose?
- Choose by platform first. The new collection is scheduled for October 8, 2026, on Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and Windows. Square Enix notes that regional store availability can vary.
- Consider your existing library. If you already own the older bundles, compare their exact contents with the new package and check whether you need Re Mind before paying for another compilation.
- Decide whether you want boxed or digital. Square Enix confirms physical and digital editions for PS5 and Nintendo Switch 2. An internet connection is required to download additional data for the physical edition; the announcement does not state the download size or precisely how much content is on the cartridge or disc.
- Check the platform bonus. The official Square Enix page lists Long Night for Switch 2, Midnight Blue for PS5, and Phantom Green for Xbox Series X|S. These are in-game Keyblades, not physical collectibles.
- Verify current local terms. Digital PS5 and Xbox Series X|S preorders were announced with 48-hour early access. Check the relevant regional store for current availability and terms rather than assuming the offer applies everywhere or remains active.
Is Kingdom Hearts Collection [I–III] worth buying?
For someone new to the series, or a fan who wants its major games and connected story material gathered on a current platform, the collection has a strong case—especially with Re Mind included. Its size is also its selling point: it spans several eras and includes both playable adventures and cinematic material.
For an existing owner of the earlier bundles, it is a more conditional purchase. The lineup substantially overlaps, and the main additions highlighted here are Re Mind and the edition-specific Keyblade bonuses. On Switch 2, weigh the portability and the reviewer’s reported caveats in 0.2 Birth by Sleep and Kingdom Hearts III against the convenience of having the collection on that system. For other platforms, the available review evidence does not support a platform-specific performance judgment.
