What the 200-plus figure counts
The figure is not a count of only VR games. GamingOnLinux reported 70 VR-only titles among the verified games, meaning the overall group also includes flatscreen games. Examples named from the VR portion include Beat Saber, UNDERDOGS, Moss VR, Ancient Dungeon, Pistol Whip, The Last Clockwinder and Synth Riders. GamingOnLinux reported the milestone on October 6, 2026.
Does Steam Frame Verified include PC streaming?
No. Valve says Steam Frame is designed for PC game streaming, but its Standalone Verified review checks the experience of running a game locally on the headset. It covers both 2D and VR games in standalone mode; games running on a PC and streamed to Steam Frame are outside this assessment. A standalone badge therefore does not establish how a game performs or works over streaming.
Valve’s Steamworks compatibility documentation describes the review as an out-of-box assessment: whether a player can launch and use the game on the device without first solving avoidable setup problems.

What Verified means—and what it does not
Valve’s labels describe compatibility and the amount of setup a player may need, not a quality score or ranking.
- Verified: The game passes the compatibility checks without requiring the player to configure it first.
- Playable: The game works, but may require user action, such as changing a controller configuration or adjusting settings.
- Unsupported: Compatibility problems prevent the game from functioning.
- Unknown: The review is not complete.
Performance is one part of the review. Valve’s stated minimum normal-play checks are 30 fps at 1280×720 for 2D titles and 72 fps at 1728×1728 for VR titles. The criteria also assess controls and other parts of the out-of-box experience, so passing the frame-rate thresholds alone does not determine a badge.

Why another catalog shows a different total
A separate Steam Frame Lab catalog snapshot accessed October 7, 2026 listed 234 certified games, including both Verified and Playable entries. Its breakdown was 89 VR games—87 Verified and 2 Playable—and 145 flatscreen games—109 Verified and 36 Playable.
Those figures are not a synchronized update to GamingOnLinux’s October 6 report: the dates differ, and the catalog’s 234 total includes Playable as well as Verified games. Steam Frame Lab is a third-party catalog, not Valve; it also distinguishes Valve’s certification list from its own settings-testing work. See the Steam Frame Lab catalog.
How to use the badge when choosing a game
Check three separate details rather than treating “works on Steam Frame” as a single promise:
- Status: Verified signals a smoother out-of-box setup than Playable; it is not a judgment of the game’s quality.
- Format: A title may be VR or flatscreen. The 200-plus milestone includes both, with 70 reported as VR-only.
- Where it runs: Standalone Verified applies to local play on the headset, not a PC-streamed session.
The 200-plus number is a dated milestone, not a permanent catalog total. For a particular game, consult its current listing and check whether you intend to play locally or stream it.
