Is GPS spoofing allowed in Pokémon GO?
No. Niantic’s Pokémon GO Gameplay Fairness Policy defines cheating to include “falsifying location (GPS location spoofing)” and unauthorized access to game clients or backends, including through third-party software or add-ons. Niantic’s Player Guidelines say, “We do not allow cheating or any efforts to circumvent gameplay,” and specifically prohibit tools or techniques used to alter or falsify a player’s location.
The Help Center also lists using emulators, modified or unofficial software, and unauthorized third-party access as conduct that may violate the Terms of Service and Trainer Guidelines. The three-strike sequence is not a safety net: Niantic says some misbehavior may result in immediate termination without a prior warning. The policy does not promise a particular strike order, restoration time, or outcome in an individual case.
Can an Android spoofing setup avoid a ban?
There is no officially supported “safe” Android setup for falsifying location. Niantic does not publicly explain its internal detection mechanisms, and its Help Center does not substantiate claims that a particular app, modified device, or movement pattern avoids detection or penalties. The current ban-appeal guidance says internal detection mechanisms are not discussed publicly.

Google Play’s developer policy is separate context: it restricts apps that interfere with or access other apps or services without authorization, and identifies game-cheating apps that affect other apps’ gameplay as a common policy violation. How to appeal a Pokémon GO suspension
- Open the Pokémon GO Help Center’s “Submitting a Ban Appeal” page.
- Use its web-form appeal route. For a suspension under the applicable terms, select “Ban Appeal.”
- Explain clearly why you believe the suspension or termination was mistaken and provide the requested account and case details.
Niantic’s policy says a termination believed to be erroneous may be appealed through a web form. An appeal is a review route, not a promise that enforcement will be reversed.
