Wizards of the Coast’s Magic: The Gathering—FINAL FANTASY set is real and released for tabletop on June 13, 2025, but its official gallery and checklist do not establish which creature the “scariest” description refers to. That superlative should be treated as headline framing, not a confirmed official ranking.
What is confirmed about the Final Fantasy Magic set?
Wizards of the Coast describes Magic: The Gathering—FINAL FANTASY as a crossover bringing characters, items, and moments from all 16 mainline Final Fantasy games into Magic. The set’s tabletop release date was June 13, 2025, according to the official product page and card image gallery.
The product line includes boosters and other sealed products, including bundles, a starter kit, prerelease packs, and scene boxes. Wizards’ product page says each booster contains 14 randomly inserted game cards. That means buying a booster is not a guarantee of getting any particular monster or card.
Which monster is the headline referring to?
The available official gallery and English deck checklist do not identify a specific card as “Final Fantasy’s scariest monster,” or otherwise connect that description to a particular creature. The checklist includes many names, including Shambling Gh’th, but that alone does not establish it as the monster meant by the headline. Naming a card based on the adjective or on a suggestive name would be a guess, not a verified reveal.

Search for Magic: The Gathering FINAL FANTASY Play Booster to find the set-level product. Wizards links to retailers, including Amazon, from its product page, but that listing does not establish current stock or price. A Play Booster is randomized; if you want a known card, check an individual card listing by its verified name rather than relying on sealed packs.
