Choose Amazon Luna if you want a curated game catalog tied to eligible Prime membership and simple play on a supported TV or other device. Choose GeForce NOW if you want to stream supported games from PC stores and subscriptions you already use. The deciding factor is whether the games you want are available in your country and work with your device, plan and connection—not which service has the larger headline number.
How Luna and GeForce NOW give you access to games
Amazon Luna is a subscription catalog
Luna runs games on Amazon’s remote servers and streams video and audio to your device while sending your controller inputs back over the internet. Streaming does not require you to download or install each game. Luna Standard is included with eligible Amazon Prime membership, while Luna Premium is a paid option with an expanded library. The available games depend on your region and can change over time. Amazon’s Luna overview describes the service and its membership options; Luna’s terms say subscription content and specific titles may change by time and location.
GeForce NOW streams supported games from connected services
GeForce NOW connects to supported PC game stores and subscriptions, including Steam, Epic Games Store, GOG, PC Game Pass and Ubisoft Connect. It streams games you own or can access, but connecting a store does not make every game in that store playable: each title must be supported. NVIDIA also describes an Install-to-Play feature for additional Steam games on premium plans. Check the specific game in NVIDIA’s current game list before relying on it. NVIDIA’s overview reports 4,500+ PC games, a provider-defined count that is not directly comparable with Luna’s changing subscription catalog. NVIDIA’s GeForce NOW overview explains the linked-store model.
Which service fits your priorities?
| What matters | Amazon Luna | GeForce NOW | What to check |
|---|---|---|---|
| How you get games | Curated subscription content; Standard is included with eligible Prime membership, and Premium expands the library. | Supported titles from linked PC stores and subscriptions; features such as Install-to-Play depend on the plan. | Search for the exact games you play in your region. |
| Best fit | Players who prefer a managed catalog, Prime integration and living-room or social play. | Players with supported PC games in connected libraries who want PC-oriented features and higher performance tiers. | Do you want a bundled catalog or access to supported games in your existing PC library? |
| Device range | Amazon lists Fire TV, Fire tablets, Windows and Mac computers, Chromebooks, phones and tablets, and selected Samsung and LG TVs. | NVIDIA lists PCs, browsers, mobile devices, TVs, Fire TV and handhelds, with requirements that vary by device. | Confirm your exact model, OS version, app or browser, controller and plan. |
| Price | Amazon’s U.S. overview, updated September 21, 2026, lists Standard as included with Prime and Premium at $9.99 per month; Amazon says local prices may differ. | A stable current price is not stated on the reviewed NVIDIA pages. | Check live local plan pages and account for Prime or any game purchases and subscriptions you need. |
| Availability | Amazon lists 14 countries with full Luna cloud gaming; other territories may have claimable games without cloud streaming. | Availability depends on region. | Check your country, account region and local catalog before signing up. |
Amazon’s eligibility page lists the 14 full cloud-gaming countries as the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Austria, Poland, Netherlands, Belgium, Sweden, Portugal and Luxembourg. The page also distinguishes territories where some games can be claimed but cloud gaming is not offered. Check Amazon’s current Luna eligibility page for your location.

What you can play—and why catalog counts can mislead
Luna’s library is a subscription selection; GeForce NOW is a way to stream supported titles from connected game services. The services therefore do not count games on the same basis. NVIDIA’s 4,500+ figure describes its provider-reported PC game catalog, not a promise that every game you own will work. Luna’s subscription catalog also changes and varies by location. Amazon’s terms explicitly allow subscription content and titles to change over time and by location, and a title page, for example, marks The Jackbox Party Pack 7 unavailable with a June 10, 2026 departure date. Verify your actual shortlist in each service before choosing.
- Already own games on PC stores? Search NVIDIA’s game list for each title; a linked account alone is not enough.
- Prefer a subscription selection? Check Luna’s current regional catalog rather than assuming a title will remain available.
- Comparing library size? Treat the headline counts as unlike measures, not a definitive winner.
Device and living-room compatibility
Both services support a range of screens, but compatibility is specific to device model, software, app or browser, controller and sometimes membership tier. Amazon lists Luna for Fire TV, Fire tablets, Windows and Mac computers, Chromebooks, phones and tablets, plus selected Samsung and LG televisions. NVIDIA lists PCs, browsers, mobile devices, TVs, Fire TV and handhelds; its system requirements specify supported models and software versions. Review Amazon’s device information and NVIDIA’s system requirements for your setup rather than assuming all devices in a category work.

For a TV-centered household, Luna may be a natural starting point if it is available where you live and your games are in its catalog. Amazon says GameNight is included in Luna Standard for Prime members and lets people use phones as controllers with a compatible TV; the number of players depends on the game. For either service, check controller support for the exact TV or streaming-device setup. NVIDIA’s requirements list the Luna Controller among supported Fire TV gamepads; that does not mean every controller works with every device.
Internet requirements and responsiveness
Cloud gaming depends on both throughput and the route between your home and the service’s data center. NVIDIA’s published requirements, accessed October 7, 2026, specify 15 Mbps for HD up to 60 fps, 25 Mbps for Full HD at 60 fps, and 35 Mbps for QHD at 90 or 120 fps. NVIDIA also recommends less than 80 ms of network latency to an NVIDIA data center and wired Ethernet or 5 GHz Wi-Fi. These are NVIDIA’s requirements and recommendations, not a guarantee of image quality or responsiveness in every home. See NVIDIA’s system requirements; requirements also vary by device and resolution.

Those figures are not a head-to-head test of Luna and GeForce NOW. Official service specifications alone do not establish which will feel more responsive on your network. If response time matters, try the service on the device and connection you plan to use, if a trial or suitable access is available. Avoid judging by download speed alone: latency and connection stability matter too.
Plans, resolution and performance tiers
Amazon’s U.S. Luna overview, updated September 21, 2026, lists Luna Standard as included with eligible Prime membership and Luna Premium at $9.99 per month. GeForce NOW offers membership tiers with different features; NVIDIA gates advanced resolutions and frame rates behind premium memberships. In a June 18, 2026 blog post, NVIDIA said Ultimate unlocks RTX 5080-class cloud performance, with up to 5K resolution and 120 fps. These are NVIDIA’s plan and capability claims, not independently measured results or a guarantee for every game, device or connection. Compare the current tier details against your display and hardware at NVIDIA’s Ultimate announcement and its membership page. The reviewed NVIDIA sources do not establish a stable current price, so check the live local pricing before subscribing.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.A practical way to choose
- Make a shortlist of your games. Check each one in Luna’s current catalog and NVIDIA’s supported game list. Do not assume a game is available just because you own it or its store is connected.
- Confirm local availability. Check that the service offers cloud gaming in your country and that the relevant catalog or plan is available to your account.
- Check your exact screen and controller. Look up the TV, Fire TV device, computer, browser or handheld model and software version, then confirm controller support.
- Match the plan to your needs. Include the cost of Prime or other game subscriptions and purchases where relevant. For GeForce NOW, check which tier enables the resolution and frame rate you want.
- Try your own connection. If you care about responsiveness or image quality, evaluate the service on your intended device and network rather than treating stated bandwidth as a performance promise.
Recommendation by player type
Start with Luna if you already have Prime
Luna is a sensible first check if you have eligible Prime membership, live in a full Luna cloud-gaming country, find your games in its current catalog and want straightforward TV or household play. GameNight’s phone-as-controller option may also suit compatible TV play when the game supports the number of players you need.

Start with GeForce NOW if your PC library is the priority
GeForce NOW is the stronger fit to investigate if you want to stream games you already own or access through connected PC services, especially on a Mac, browser, handheld or TV. First verify each title and your device; a store connection is not a guarantee of game support.
Let the exact setup decide for high-end streaming
If higher resolution or frame rate is your priority, compare the current membership tier, device requirements, game support and connection for that specific setup. Neither a plan’s maximum capability nor a service’s stated network requirement settles how it will perform in your home.
