Garfield: Escape from Monday has three themed worlds and more than 40 levels, but its publisher does not give an official completion-time estimate or describe the stages as chapters. Review estimates range from five or six hours to at least seven, depending on the player and what they choose to collect.
How long does Garfield: Escape from Monday take to beat?
There is no official or universal completion time in the sources available. Reviewers and players report different estimates, and they should be read as individual impressions rather than a benchmark.

- Five to six hours: MeriStation reviewer Cristian Ciuraneta Catalán estimated the game could offer five or six hours of exploration in a review updated September 22, 2026. Read the MeriStation review.
- At least seven hours: One Steam community reviewer, writing on September 25, 2026, said a playthrough of roughly 45 levels should take at least seven hours, even without focusing on every lasagna. That player’s profile showed 14.6 hours on record at the time; this is not a measured completion time. See Steam community reviews and discussion.
The estimates are not controlled or directly comparable: play style and collectible goals affect how long a run takes. The publisher’s June 6, 2026 announcement describes the game’s size, not a playtime.
How many chapters and levels are there?
Microids describes Garfield: Escape from Monday as having three worlds and over 40 levels. The official descriptions use “worlds” and “levels,” not formally named chapters, and do not provide a chapter-by-chapter breakdown. Nintendo’s European listing also describes three worlds and dozens of levels.

- The more you eat, the more rooms you edit! Gather tons of delicious collectibles to keep your morale and help refurbish Jon’s house with all kinds of surprising items
MeriStation identifies the settings as a vegetable world, a sugar-free candy world, and a Far West-inspired world. Those are thematic descriptions, not official chapter titles.
What do you do in the game?
It is a 3D platformer in which Garfield moves through stages, avoids hazards, fights enemies, collects food, and reaches the goal. The official feature description highlights jumping, wall climbing, and rolling, along with three costume themes: turkey, surfer, and cowboy. Their special abilities let Garfield go airborne, slide on water, and swing with a lasso. Microids’ feature description also mentions enemies and lasagnas to find.

Nintendo Insider’s Switch review describes moving platforms, alternate routes, tricky jumps, occasional timed sections, enemies, and bosses. Stages reward food collection, while hidden lasagnas and stage-clear results feed into rewards for refurbishing Jon’s house. Fully clearing a stage can earn alternate furniture. Read Shaun Musgrave’s Nintendo Insider review.
Is Garfield: Escape from Monday replayable?
Its replay value comes mainly from optional completion goals, rather than a separately documented post-game campaign. You can revisit stages to find hidden lasagnas and other collectibles, improve a stage clear, and work toward the furniture rewards. Steam’s listing showed 30 achievements when accessed on October 7, 2026; that count is specific to the Steam version and may change. Check the Steam listing.

- Move like a cat: jump, roll up, climb up walls... you always land on your paws!
- Slip into all forms of Garfield: Traverse the skies in turkey costume, glide across the water in a surfer outfit and swing through the air with your cowboy lasso!
- The entire Garfield ensemble is there: Jon is at your side on your quest, just like Odie and Pookie. But beware of Nermal and Squeak, Garfield's most dangerous enemies!
- Plenty of levels to explore: 3 worlds and dozens of levels full of enemies to fight and lasagnas that want to be collected to regain the flavor!
- The more you eat, the more you decorate! Collect tons of delicious collectables to keep the mood up and decorate Jon's house with surprising items!
A Steam community player also mentions time trials, but the available sources do not establish that those challenges—or Steam achievements—are offered in the same form on console. Do not assume that platform-specific extras carry over.
Who is likely to enjoy it?
The reviews differ on how well the platforming and presentation work. Nintendo Insider’s Shaun Musgrave calls it an easy but entertaining 3D platformer, especially suited to children and Garfield fans, while noting that familiar moves and a slow pace may limit its appeal. MeriStation is more critical, describing a conventional collectathon and faulting its controls and challenge. These are reviewers’ assessments, not a single settled verdict.

If you want a short, accessible platformer and enjoy Garfield, collecting, or revisiting stages for completion goals, the game’s structure may suit you. If you want demanding platforming or a long campaign with an official chapter guide, the available descriptions and reviews do not establish that it delivers those.
