Find Ahab Wheathoof in Bloodhoof Village, get Tender Strider Meat from a strider east of town, put it down near Kyle, then return to Ahab.
Where to find Kyle’s Gone Missing!
Go to Bloodhoof Village in Mulgore and speak with Ahab Wheathoof. He gives the quest and is also the NPC you return to when it is complete. The quest is associated with Horde-side Mulgore content.
How to complete the quest
- Accept Kyle’s Gone Missing! from Ahab Wheathoof in Bloodhoof Village.
- Hunt a strider east of the village to obtain Tender Strider Meat, Kyle’s favorite food.
- Return to Bloodhoof Village and look for Kyle. He runs around the village. When he is nearby, put down the Tender Strider Meat so he can eat it. The quest text says, “When you see Kyle in town, put the meat down and he is sure to come to you.” (Wowhead quest listing)
- Speak with Ahab again after Kyle has eaten to complete the quest.
Level requirements and rewards depend on your WoW version
There is no single level requirement or reward list that applies across every version of World of Warcraft. Wowhead’s Cataclysm Classic entry lists a level 5 requirement, while its standard quest listing contains different level information. A report about the WoW Forever beta also says players need to be level 5 there. Check the quest listing for your edition or the in-game journal rather than relying on one universal level figure.
Rewards also vary by version, and some listings do not show a complete breakdown. If the exact experience, currency, or reputation reward matters, confirm the current display in your game client for the version you are playing.

Why players call it the Make-A-Wish quest
The quest is remembered for its connection to Ezra Chatterton, a Make-A-Wish participant associated with creating the quest and voicing Ahab Wheathoof. In a report about WoW Forever, principal game designer Johnny Cash said, “I had the honor and privilege of bringing ‘Kyle’s Gone Missing!’ into WoW: Forever.” (GamesRadar+ report)
This quest does not require a purchase: Tender Strider Meat is an in-game quest item. Blizzard’s 2019 Dottie pet announcement described a separate charity promotion, not a current offer tied to completing Kyle’s Gone Missing! (Blizzard announcement)
