Warhammer Survivors brings the familiar survivors-style loop to Warhammer 40,000 and Age of Sigmar: choose a character, fight swarms of enemies, earn experience, and build up weapons and power-ups. The standalone game is scheduled to launch on November 10, 2026. An updated demo is available now on Steam and Xbox for PC.
What is Warhammer Survivors?
Warhammer Survivors is an officially announced, standalone survivors-style game made in partnership by Auroch Digital and poncle, the studio behind Vampire Survivors. Warhammer Community describes it as combining the genre’s fast, repeatable action with the dark settings of Warhammer 40,000 and Warhammer Age of Sigmar. It is a collaboration in the same genre, not an announced direct sequel to Vampire Survivors. Warhammer Community’s announcement introduced the project in 2025.
The announced core loop is straightforward: pick a character, battle hordes, collect experience, and acquire weapons and power-ups. That establishes the premise, but not how the finished game feels to play. Its balance, run variety, and handling of the contrast between grim settings and a more playful survivors-style format remain questions for actual play.
When does Warhammer Survivors come out, and where can you play it?
Warhammer Community’s October 6, 2026 update sets the launch date for November 10, 2026. Auroch Digital’s developer FAQ lists these platforms:

The platform list is the developer’s announced plan; availability can vary by platform. Nintendo’s official Switch 2 listing confirms the game is listed for that system.
What is in the demo?
The updated demo is available on Steam and Xbox for PC, according to the October 6 Warhammer Community update. It features two announced playable characters:

The demo is the clearest available way to try the game before launch. The announcement does not establish that this demo is available on Xbox consoles, PlayStation, Switch, or mobile.
How much content is announced?
Warhammer Community says the game will include more than 40 playable characters and more than 70 weapons. These are publisher-announced counts for the planned game, not independently verified totals from a finished release. PlayStation Blog’s October 6 post specifically highlights Morvenn Vahl and Lyssa Revenya among the champions; it does not provide a separate complete roster. Read the PlayStation Blog announcement.

What will it cost, and are pre-orders open?
Auroch Digital’s FAQ says pricing has not yet been announced. Pre-order availability is platform-specific: the October 6 update names PlayStation 5 pre-orders and says Xbox Series X|S pre-orders begin October 27, 2026. It does not say that pre-orders are open on every announced platform. Check the relevant platform storefront for current availability and price before purchasing.

The premise is clear: Warhammer’s two settings, a roster of named champions, and the character-and-upgrade structure of a survivors-like. The demo gives PC players a chance to sample two characters, but the available announcements do not establish the finished game’s performance, depth, or whether its tone successfully balances grimdark imagery with lighter, hectic action. Those are judgments that require playing the game, not conclusions its content counts or setting can settle.
