Yes—if you already own NBA 2K25, delisting alone will not stop you from playing it. 2K says existing owners can redownload the game and play offline modes after it leaves sale on October 30, 2026. Online services have a separate end date: after December 31, 2026, online modes including MyCAREER and MyTEAM are scheduled to be unavailable.
What the delisting date means
2K has scheduled NBA 2K25 to leave sale on October 30, 2026. That is the cutoff for purchasing the game, not the date current owners lose access. 2K says people who already own it will still be able to redownload it and play offline modes. 2K’s NBA 2K25: Server Sunset notice was published September 3, 2026 and updated October 2, 2026.

The notice does not promise that someone who has not bought the game can obtain a license after the cutoff. Nor does it detail every platform’s account, installation, or authentication behavior. Check the storefront and account tied to your copy if you need to reinstall or confirm ownership.
When NBA 2K25 online services end
The shutdown is separate from delisting. 2K schedules NBA 2K25 online services to end on December 31, 2026. Starting January 1, 2027, multiplayer and online modes will no longer be available; MyCAREER and MyTEAM will be unavailable, and players will no longer be able to earn Virtual Currency (VC), according to 2K’s sunset notice. Its Online Services Status page likewise lists NBA 2K25 features as scheduled to remain available until December 31, 2026.

Which modes are expected to remain playable?
2K specifically names Play Now, MyNBA, The W, and MyWNBA as modes players can continue to enjoy. That does not mean every connected feature within or around the game will keep working: 2K warns that features requiring its servers will become unavailable.
- Scheduled to remain playable: Play Now, MyNBA, The W, and MyWNBA.
- Scheduled to stop working: multiplayer, Online Leagues, community sharing, MyCAREER, and MyTEAM, along with other features dependent on 2K servers.
Those remaining modes are not a guarantee that every online-dependent option, saved feature, or platform service will work after shutdown. The official notice does not spell out every post-sunset behavior for each platform.

Does your platform or edition change the answer?
The basic distinction—existing owner versus new buyer, and offline modes versus server-dependent features—comes from 2K’s notice. Your digital entitlement is still tied to the platform and account where you own the game. 2K’s cross-generation FAQ says digital PlayStation and Xbox editions include entitlements across generations within their respective console families. It does not say a purchase grants a copy on another platform. Nintendo Switch and Steam do not have multiple generations, and the FAQ identifies crossplay for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
If you plan to keep playing after delisting, confirm NBA 2K25 appears in the library for the account and platform on which you bought it. Do not assume that owning it on one console family gives you ownership on another.

Should you buy it before delisting?
If you do not already own NBA 2K25, 2K’s scheduled purchase cutoff is October 30, 2026. A purchase before that date may make sense if you specifically want the offline modes 2K says will remain playable. It is a poor fit if your main reason for buying is MyCAREER, MyTEAM, Online Leagues, multiplayer, community sharing, or earning VC: those online services have a scheduled end.
Availability, price, and platform-specific listings can vary, and the sunset notice does not guarantee a particular store’s stock or licensing terms. Check the exact platform edition before buying.
