Yes, if you want an arcade racer built around close competition, vehicle handling and improving through repeated runs. If you mainly want a straightforward Star Wars story with little retrying, its run-based campaign may be a poor fit. For most players, the Standard Edition is the sensible buy; pay more only for Deluxe content or Collector’s Edition physical items you specifically want.
What kind of game is Galactic Racer?
STAR WARS: Galactic Racer launched worldwide on October 6, 2026, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC, according to StarWars.com. The official Steam listing names Fuse Games as developer and Secret Mode as publisher: Steam.
Set after the Empire’s fall, the game follows Shade through an unsanctioned racing circuit. Its races feature landspeeders, speeder bikes, skim speeders and podracers. PlayStation describes a solo, story-driven campaign, rivalries, vehicle customization and PvP modes on its PS5 product page.
Is its run-based campaign a good fit?
The campaign is organized around repeated runs rather than a single uninterrupted sequence of story missions. In TechRadar’s PS5 review, the reviewer described choosing routes through qualifiers and a Galactic Tour, and risking League Tokens in different events. They found the loop of learning and improving exciting, but also reported repetition in Field Tests and said repeated races could get in the way of the story. Those are one reviewer’s impressions, not a consensus or a guarantee of how every player will feel.

Is the pre-order bonus still available?
The official edition page describes a repulsorcraft livery and multiplayer player banner as pre-order bonuses, including for physical pre-orders. Because the game has already launched and the page still uses pre-order language, availability after launch is not established. Check the exact seller and edition rather than assuming the bonus is included.

- Choose your platform: the game launched on PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC; the official site lists physical Standard and Deluxe editions for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.
