A Meta Quest 3S under $300 would be a strong price for Meta’s standalone VR headset, but the confirmed Amazon price below $300 in the available reporting was during June 2026 Prime Day—not the October event. Amazon calls its October 6–7 sale Prime Big Deal Days. Check the live listing before treating the Quest 3S as an October deal; Meta’s store currently lists it starting at $349.99.
What the Quest 3S deal prices actually show
The clearest documented Amazon price below $300 is historical. Tom’s Hardware reported that the 128GB Quest 3S was $296.79 during June Prime Day, a $53.20 reduction from the then-current $350 price. Tom’s Hardware’s June report supports calling that a June deal, not confirming an October price.
Road to VR separately reported a $300 price for a 128GB Gorilla Tag bundle during the June 23–26 sale, and $380 for 256GB bundles. That offer included three months of Horizon+, according to its report; bundle extras can differ between listings and dates. Road to VR’s June coverage describes the historical offer.
For October, Amazon’s event is officially Prime Big Deal Days, running October 6–7, 2026, for 48 hours, with deals across more than 35 categories. Amazon confirms the event dates and name. A Reddit post dated October 6 mentions a $297 Quest 3S price, but the listing details and live status could not be verified, so it is not enough on its own to establish an October deal. The post can serve as a prompt to check Amazon directly.

How to judge a live Quest 3S offer
Meta’s official store page currently displays the Quest 3S starting at $349.99. That is a useful reference point, but a sale listing should be judged by the exact headset configuration and checkout terms, not just a headline discount. Meta’s Quest 3S page lists its current starting price and product details.
- Confirm the storage capacity and that the listing is for the Quest 3S, not a different headset or a third-party accessory.
- Check the seller, whether Prime membership is required, shipping charges, and the final checkout price.
- Read the bundle details. A game or subscription is only valuable if you want it and can use it; confirm the offer’s terms and duration.
- Compare the price with the product page’s available price history. Amazon says eligible product pages may show up to 365 days of history and describes deal and price alerts in its Prime Big Deal Days guide.
The June price of $296.79 is a useful historical benchmark, not a guarantee that October will match it. A verified price below $300 would be close to that documented low; if the listing is higher, compare the savings against Meta’s current starting price and decide whether the bundle makes up the difference for you.

What you get with the Quest 3S
The Quest 3S is a physical, all-in-one VR and mixed-reality headset. Meta lists a Snapdragon XR2 Gen 2 processor and 8GB of RAM, full-color passthrough through dual RGB cameras, and an action button for switching to passthrough. Meta also lists hand-tracking support for its controllers. These are manufacturer specifications and claims, not independent performance test results.
Meta lists a 96° by 90° field of view, approximately 20 pixels per degree, and approximately 773 pixels per inch. The manufacturer describes the Quest 3S as offering the same experience as Quest 3 and markets it as having “4.5X the resolution and color compared to Quest 2.” Treat that wording as Meta’s product-page claim; it is not a complete, independent comparison of the two headsets.

Is the Quest 3S worth buying at $300?
At a verified price below $300, the Quest 3S is a compelling option for someone who wants a standalone headset for VR games and mixed-reality use. The price is particularly attractive against Meta’s listed $349.99 starting price and is near the historical $296.79 Amazon offer. Whether it is the right headset depends on the configuration, what is included, and your needs; the available product details here do not establish a complete current Quest 3-versus-Quest 3S comparison.
