The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt — Complete Edition bundled the base game, both major expansions, and 16 additional content items. But CD PROJEKT RED released The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt — Remastered on September 29, 2026; on supported platforms it replaces Complete Edition and includes both expansions. If you already own the game, check your platform’s free-upgrade eligibility before buying it again.
What’s included in The Witcher 3 Complete Edition?
CD PROJEKT RED’s 2022 announcement describes the Complete Edition as the base game plus both major expansions—Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine—and 16 pieces of previously released additional content. The two expansions add substantial story content; they are not separate purchases required to complete the bundle.

The publisher’s current release, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt — Remastered, also includes the base game and both expansions. CD PROJEKT RED says it replaces Complete Edition on supported platforms. Its support FAQ says the expansions are incorporated into the base game and standalone expansion listings are delisted in the storefronts it describes. See the 2022 Complete Edition announcement and the publisher’s support FAQ for platform-specific details.
What does Remastered add?
The September 29, 2026 release updates the game with upgraded environment, NPC, and monster textures; foliage, lighting, rendering, and ray-tracing improvements; new animations; refreshed menus; improved combat; a reworked skill system; and cross-platform mod support. Features vary by platform, so a feature listed for one version should not be assumed to appear on another.

Platform-specific features
- PC: The publisher lists path tracing.
- PS5 Pro: Dedicated support includes a 60-fps ray-tracing mode and a performance mode offering up to 90 fps with VRR, according to CD PROJEKT RED.
- Nintendo Switch 2: The native release adds motion and gyro controls, mouse control, and touchscreen support.
The earlier next-generation Complete Edition already had platform-dependent upgrades. CD PROJEKT RED’s 2022 announcement listed real-time ray tracing on PC; performance and ray-tracing modes on PS5 and Xbox Series X; performance and quality modes on Xbox Series S; faster loading; DLSS on PC; AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution across next-generation platforms; Photo Mode; cross-platform progression; camera options; quick Sign casting; and some community-created mods. These are features of that earlier release announcement, not a promise that every feature is present on every Remastered platform. The publisher’s current feature list is in its Remastered release announcement.
Which version should you buy?

CD PROJEKT RED’s support FAQ says existing saves remain compatible and achievements carry over. However, Remastered’s skill-system overhaul resets skills, so plan to redistribute skill points after upgrading.
