To start Alexander in Final Fantasy XIV, finish the Heavensward main scenario and accept Disarmed from Slowfix in Idyllshire. That opens the first Gordias duty. Midas and Creator are unlocked later through the continuing Alexander quest chain; each tier’s four floors open in sequence rather than all at once.
Unlock Gordias: start with Disarmed
After completing the Heavensward main scenario, speak with Slowfix in Idyllshire (X:7, Y:6) and accept Disarmed. This is the entry quest for Alexander: Gordias. The official Patch 3.01 notes confirm the quest and prerequisite.

To reach the rest of Gordias, continue the quest chain in order: Steel and Steam, Tinker, Seeker, Soldier, Spy, and The Pulsing Heart. Each step advances access to the next floor; accept the follow-up and clear the preceding duty when the quest asks you to.
Unlock Midas: complete Enigma, then Rearmed
Once the Gordias story section is complete, progress to Enigma. Then speak with Roundrox in the Dravanian Hinterlands and accept Rearmed to begin Alexander: Midas. Square Enix’s Patch 3.2 notes identify Roundrox and Enigma as the prerequisite.

Continue through The Folly of Youth, Toppling the Tyrant, and One Step Behind to unlock the remaining Midas floors, following any duty-clear prompts along the way.
Unlock Creator: finish A Gob in the Machine
For Alexander: Creator, first complete A Gob in the Machine. Then find Mide in the Dravanian Hinterlands (X:21.7, Y:18.8) and accept The Coeurl and the Colossus. The Patch 3.4 notes confirm the quest giver and prerequisite.

The remaining Creator floors follow the quests Biggs and Wedge’s Excellent Adventure, Thus Spake Quickthinx, and Judgment Day. Continue the chain and clear the prior duty when directed.

The sequence and floor-by-floor follow-ups are also cross-checked in Destructoid’s Alexander unlock guide. If a floor is still locked, return to the active Alexander quests and advance the chain rather than looking for a separate tier-start quest.

Unlocking Savage is a separate route
Savage duties do not unlock just because their normal counterparts are available. The listed Savage quests are A Song of Steam and Steel for Gordias Savage after completing normal Gordias, and A Refrain for the Undaunted for Midas Savage after completing normal Midas.
Creator Savage is unlocked with Who Lives, Who Dies, Who Retells Your Story after Of Endings and Beginnings. Square Enix’s Patch 3.4 notes identify the Wandering Minstrel in Mor Dhona as the quest giver and list level 60 and the prerequisite for that original unlock.

Check current duty requirements in game
The raid tiers launched with level 60 requirements and minimum average item levels of 170 for Gordias, 200 for Midas, and 230 for Creator, as well as eight-player parties and 90-minute duty limits. These are historical release requirements, not confirmation of current live restrictions. Check the duty’s in-game listing for the requirements that apply to your character and current game version. The original Patch 3.01 notes also said Gordias could be registered solo through Duty Finder after unlocking it.
Creator Savage originally listed item-level minima of 245 for Eyes, 250 for Breath, and 255 for Heart and Soul, with access through Raid Finder. Those are release-era details; later changes may have superseded the queue method or requirements, so use the current in-game duty listing rather than relying on them as present-day rules.
