Games Like Sifu: The Best Martial Arts Action Games

Absolver is the closest follow-up to Sifu by martial-arts lineage. Judgment is a broader city-action alternative, while other community suggestions need verification.

Absolver is the closest follow-up to Sifu: it is Sloclap’s earlier martial-arts game, and the studio says Sifu builds on that experience. If you want a larger city adventure with a crime-drama story instead of a focused kung-fu brawler, consider Judgment. Neither should be treated as a one-to-one Sifu replacement.

What makes a game feel like Sifu?

Sifu’s defining combination is single-player, close-quarters kung-fu action, environmental improvisation, skill learning, and a revenge story. PlayStation describes its combat as visceral hand-to-hand fighting in a contemporary urban setting. Sloclap says the design draws heavily on kung-fu and martial-arts films, with objects and surroundings part of the fight.

One useful comparison point is Sifu’s Structure gauge: Sloclap designed it to represent an opponent’s stance and ability to attack or defend, with breaking that stance opening the way to a takedown. Sifu also ties its revenge journey to aging after death, so its distinctive pressure comes from more than simply winning fights. PlayStation’s Sifu listing and Sloclap’s combat breakdown describe these elements.

That makes “similar” a matter of priorities. A game might share martial-arts lineage, close-range combat, or a city setting without matching Sifu’s combat loop. The recommendations below separate those kinds of overlap rather than treating them as interchangeable.

Best games to play after Sifu

Game Why it may fit How close it is to Sifu Best for
Absolver Sloclap’s earlier martial-arts game; Sifu builds on the studio’s experience with it. Closest developer and martial-arts lineage; the sources do not establish identical systems. Players prioritizing martial-arts combat and the clearest connection to Sifu.
Judgment Story-led action in a city, presented by SEGA as a legal suspense drama; its gameplay headings include “Kick Faces.” Broader urban action and narrative overlap, not established as a focused kung-fu brawler. Players who want a crime story and city adventure as much as fighting.
Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice Recommended by players in a Sifu discussion. Community comparison only; specific combat and platform details are not established by the sources cited here. Readers who want to investigate a frequently mentioned candidate before choosing.
Sleeping Dogs Recommended by players for hand-to-hand action and discussed alongside Judgment. Anecdotal community suggestion; this evidence does not verify its feature set or availability. Readers curious about another city-action recommendation from the community.

Absolver: the closest lineage

Start here if what you want is another martial-arts game connected directly to Sifu’s development. PlayStation identifies Absolver as Sloclap’s prior fighting game, and Sloclap says Sifu builds on its martial-arts gameplay experience. Félix Garczynski, Sloclap’s community manager, described the distinction plainly: “Building on our experience working on martial arts gameplay with Absolver but focusing this time on a single-player game, we wanted with Sifu to offer a unique player experience, heavily drawing from kung fu and martial arts movies.”

That statement makes Absolver the strongest recommendation by lineage, not proof that the two games play identically. Sloclap specifically framed Sifu as a single-player experience; do not assume Absolver has the same structure or that its multiplayer is currently active. See Sloclap’s explanation of Sifu’s combat and PlayStation’s Absolver listing.

Judgment: choose it for the city and story

Judgment is the better fit if your interest extends beyond kung-fu choreography to a story-led action adventure. SEGA presents it as a legal suspense drama from Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio and includes “Kick Faces” among its gameplay headings. That supports recommending it as urban action, but not describing it as a direct Sifu-style combat substitute.

SEGA’s page lists PS5, PS4, Xbox One, Stadia, Luna, and Steam, and includes Amazon purchase destinations. A platform listing is not a guarantee of current storefront support, regional availability, or stock, so check the relevant store before buying. Details are on SEGA’s Judgment page.

Sekiro and Sleeping Dogs: community suggestions, not verified matches here

Players in one Sifu discussion mention Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, comparing its parry or posture feel, and recommend Sleeping Dogs for hand-to-hand action. Those comments can help surface games to investigate, but they are anecdotal, not authoritative feature or availability references. This article therefore does not rank either as mechanically equivalent to Sifu or make specific platform claims about them. The discussion is available at the player thread.

How to choose based on what you liked

  • You want the clearest martial-arts connection: Choose Absolver. Its link is Sloclap’s development history, while Sifu remains the studio’s explicitly single-player take.
  • You want a broader narrative adventure: Consider Judgment. Its city setting and legal-suspense premise are a stronger match for story and urban action than for Sifu’s focused kung-fu combat.
  • You are comparing combat feel: Look for descriptions that address close-quarters fighting, how opponents are opened up, and whether the environment matters. Similar labels like “action” or “martial arts” alone do not establish a similar combat loop.
  • You want crowd-fighting or a specific learning curve: The cited sources do not provide a reliable side-by-side assessment of crowd handling or difficulty across these games. Treat those as questions to verify in a game’s current feature details or trusted gameplay coverage, not as measured rankings here.

Which version or expansion of Sifu should you compare against?

PlayStation lists Sifu for PS4 and PS5. Its official page describes the Arenas expansion as adding five modes, nine locations, and 45 challenges; those counts belong to that expansion, not to the base game’s content or to a comparison with the other recommendations. The same official site announced a mobile launch for October 12, 2026, in a post dated October 1, 2026. As of October 7, 2026, that launch date was still upcoming; check the official site for its current status.
