A PS5 game being delisted means it is no longer available to buy through that Store listing; it does not, by itself, mean existing purchasers lose access. Previously purchased games and add-ons may be available from your account’s Purchased library, while multiplayer, online features, and virtual purchases depend on the game’s own service status and terms. Check the title-specific notice rather than treating delisting as a single all-or-nothing event.
What delisting changes—and what it does not establish
Delisting is about availability for new purchases through a particular Store listing. It is distinct from removing a purchase from an account, shutting down a game’s servers, or disabling a particular online feature. PlayStation’s download instructions direct players to their Game Library and Purchased section for games they have bought, but those instructions are not a blanket promise that every delisted PS5 game will remain downloadable indefinitely. Be careful with PlayStation’s phrase “for the foreseeable future.” The statement on PlayStation’s important notices page concerns the planned closure of the PS3 and PS Vita Stores. It is not a general PS5-specific guarantee of perpetual downloads.
Can you still download a game or DLC you bought?
PlayStation’s support instructions provide a route to find previously purchased content. On PS5, open Game Library > Your Collection, select the game, and choose Download. For add-ons, select the game in the library and open its Add-Ons section to locate and download an add-on associated with your account.

This describes where to look, not a guarantee that every entitlement will always be available or that an add-on will work after a game’s online services change. If an item does not appear, confirm you are signed in to the account that bought it and check the game’s own notice for any stated access or service limits.
What happens to multiplayer and online features?
A Store delisting does not itself shut down multiplayer. A publisher can remove a game from sale and keep its servers running, or end online services at a different time. When servers or services close, affected online modes may stop working even if the game remains installed and playable offline.

Check PlayStation’s online-game service notices for the specific title, paying attention to the region and the dates listed. For example, PlayStation’s regional notice for Destruction AllStars says the game was removed from sale on May 26, 2026, and addresses online-service availability separately. That distinction illustrates why the sale-removal date alone does not answer whether a mode is still playable.
Online play may also have a subscription requirement separate from the game’s server status. Sony Interactive Entertainment’s March 2026 English UK terms say some games offer online multiplayer and, unless a particular game says otherwise, an active PlayStation Plus subscription is needed to access it. That is a general subscription condition, not a promise that a delisted title’s servers remain available. Read the March 2026 English UK terms; requirements can vary by game and region.

What happens to in-game purchases and virtual currency?
There is no single outcome for every delisted game. A game may stop selling virtual currency or other purchases while some existing online services continue; alternatively, service changes may affect whether purchased items can be used. The relevant game notice should say whether currency remains for sale, whether balances or items remain usable, and which features are affected. PlayStation’s Destruction AllStars notice, for instance, addresses the removal of its virtual currency from sale separately from service availability.
Do not assume that delisting automatically erases a purchase, or that an in-game item will remain usable forever. Check both PlayStation’s notice and the publisher’s information for the title, especially if the item depends on an online account or service.

How to check a specific PS5 game
- Check sale status and date. Look for the game’s Store listing or official service notice and note when it was removed from sale.
- Check your purchase library. On PS5, open Game Library > Your Collection and look for the game. Select it to see its add-ons, then check whether the purchased content is available to download.
- Read the title-specific service notice. Identify any server shutdown date and which online modes or features are affected; do not infer service status from the delisting date.
- Check virtual-item and currency details. Look for statements about purchases being removed, balances, redemption, and whether items remain usable after service changes.
- Confirm online-play requirements. Check whether the game requires PlayStation Plus as well as an active game service, and use the terms and notice for your region.
