What can you buy with Mythic Prisms?
Mythic Prisms are for Mythic cosmetics: they unlock a Mythic skin’s base version and its customization levels through the Mythic Shop. Mythic cosmetics have included both hero skins and weapon skins; Blizzard’s Season 17 announcement, for example, featured a Mythic D.Va hero skin and a Reaper weapon skin (Blizzard, Season 17).
Blizzard’s Mythic Shop FAQ explains that customization levels are unlocked in sequence, although an “unlock all” option is available if you have enough Prisms. The FAQ describes most Mythic skins at the time as having three additional customization levels; check the selected item in the current Mythic Shop for its available options and costs (Blizzard Mythic Shop FAQ).

Can you use Coins to buy Mythic skins or convert them into Prisms?
No. Blizzard says that only Mythic Prisms unlock Mythic hero skins and customizations; Coins and Credits cannot be redeemed for Prisms. The currencies are not interchangeable: Prisms also cannot be used for ordinary Legendary or other general shop and Hero Gallery purchases, which use Coins or eligible Credits (Blizzard Mythic Shop FAQ).
How do you get each currency?
Overwatch Coins
Coin rewards and Battle Pass contents vary by season. For context, Blizzard said Season 17’s free rewards included 600 Overwatch Coins and its Ultimate Battle Pass bundle included 2,000 Overwatch Coins. Those are Season 17 figures from 2025, not a statement of current 2026 rewards (Blizzard, Season 17).

Mythic Prisms
Blizzard’s Mythic Shop FAQ says players can earn Prisms by progressing through the Premium Battle Pass or purchase additional Prisms in game. The FAQ describes completing that pass as the best way to obtain a Mythic skin and its customizations. As dated examples, Blizzard said the Season 10 Premium Battle Pass in 2024 provided 80 Prisms, and the Season 17 Premium Battle Pass in 2025 offered up to 80. Neither figure establishes the reward for the current season (Blizzard Mythic Shop FAQ; Blizzard, Season 10; Blizzard, Season 17).

It also says a player who unlocks a skin’s base version while it is featured can continue upgrading it after the base leaves the shop. These are FAQ-era schedule details, not a confirmed October 2026 rotation calendar; consult the live Mythic Shop in game before planning a purchase.
