To claim a Mystery Gift in Pokémon Scarlet or Pokémon Violet, reach the first Pokémon Center in Los Platos, then open X > Poké Portal > Mystery Gift. Choose Internet to search for gifts currently available online, or Code/Password to redeem a code you have.
When does Mystery Gift unlock?
Nintendo says Poké Portal and Mystery Gift become available after you reach the first Pokémon Center in Los Platos. That location is the unlock condition; progress time varies. A Pokémon Company International announcement estimated about 1 to 1.5 hours of play before access, but treat that as an approximate estimate, not a fixed timer. Nintendo Support and the Pokémon Scarlet and Violet DLC bundle announcement provide the respective details.
How to claim an internet Mystery Gift
- During gameplay, press X to open the in-game menu.
- Select Poké Portal, then Mystery Gift.
- Choose Get via Internet (shown as Internet in some instructions). The game connects and searches for gifts currently available.
- Select the gift displayed and confirm the claim.
How to redeem a Mystery Gift code
- Press X, then select Poké Portal > Mystery Gift.
- Choose Get with Code/Password (or Code/Password), enter the code you were given, and confirm.
The internet option searches for currently available distributions; the code option redeems a supplied code. A code does not make an expired or otherwise unavailable distribution claimable.
Where to find the reward
- Pokémon: Check your party and Pokémon Boxes.
- Non-fashion items: Check your Bag.
- Fashion items: Open the Outfit menu.
Save your game after receiving a gift. To review gifts you have already claimed, choose Check Mystery Gifts from the Mystery Gift menu. Nintendo Support explains these destinations and menu options at its Scarlet and Violet Mystery Gift instructions.

Checking whether a gift is still available
Distributions and deadlines change. Check Pokémon.com’s announcements for current and upcoming gifts before trying a code or internet claim; availability should not be assumed from older guides. Pokémon Support directs players to Pokémon Support for distribution information.

Requirements can depend on the specific distribution. For example, the 100 Poké Ball bundle purchase bonus required an internet connection and a profile linked to a Nintendo Account, according to its announcement. That condition applies to that bonus; it should not be treated as a universal requirement for every Mystery Gift.
