There is no verified official ranking of the Unmoored World’s hardest bosses, and reliable current tactics for every encounter are not established. The best approach is to prepare for the enemy in front of you: check your party and terrain, learn its visible attack cues, and use openings to target weak points. This guide focuses on demanding Dullahan and dragon encounters, while treating the dragon cues as general guidance rather than a guaranteed move list for every variant.
Prepare before committing to a difficult fight
Capcom’s PlayStation game description recommends considering your party setup, the terrain and an enemy’s strengths before battle. That matters in the Unmoored World: choose companions and abilities that can respond to the kind of pressure the encounter presents, and take a moment to notice nearby obstacles and open space before engaging. PlayStation’s Dragon’s Dogma 2 page describes these considerations as part of preparing for the game’s dangerous foes.

For close-range pressure, a party with ways to sustain itself and create openings is a sensible choice; for a large target, consider whether your vocation and skills can keep damage on its weak points. These are practical recommendations based on the enemies’ described behavior, not a tested universal build. Your own vocation familiarity and the rest of your party matter more than a single prescribed setup.
Handle the Dullahan’s close-range pressure
PlayStation describes the Dullahan as a knight covered in spiritual flames, wielding deadly swordplay and able to become black mist in darkness. That description points to two priorities: leave room to react to its melee threat, and pay attention to the environment and visibility rather than fighting on autopilot.

#1 Best Overall
- A Grand Adventure – Dragon’s Dogma 2 begins in a subterranean jail, where the Dragon’s voice echoes in the fog of lost memories.
- Single-Player Cooperation – Up to three mysterious otherworldly beings, known as Pawns, accompany the Arisen throughout their journey.
- Made with RE ENGINE – Capcom’s advanced RE ENGINE produces vividly detailed, high fidelity graphics combined with immersive physics and complex and reactive character AI to create a setting where decisions, and their consequences, come to life.
- Pre-order Bonus: Superior Weapons Quartet
Spacing and a party able to respond to close-range pressure are editorial recommendations drawn from that description, not a verified sequence of Dullahan-specific counters. The available sources do not establish a current, complete Dullahan moveset, damage thresholds or a guaranteed way to interrupt it.
Use the cling mechanic against large foes
Capcom’s online manual describes a way to cling to larger enemies: contact one while airborne while holding the relevant cling control. It also says dashing before jumping and clinging may knock the foe off balance. This can create an opportunity to attack, but the manual wording does not establish that it will work identically against every large enemy or in every situation.
- Check the manual for your platform and control mapping to identify the cling input; controls can be remapped.
- Build up a dash, jump toward the large foe, and hold the cling control as you make contact.
- Watch for whether the enemy loses balance, then use the opening your party and vocation can exploit.
The manual page’s accessible search-result text does not provide a platform-specific button assignment here, so use the in-game or platform manual rather than assuming a particular button.
Rank #2
- A Grand Adventure – Dragon’s Dogma 2 begins in a subterranean jail, where the Dragon’s voice echoes in the fog of lost memories. With their heart taken by the Dragon, the Arisen is set on a path to slay that symbol of the world’s destruction as it soars through the sky on massive wings, breathing flames that scorch everything in its path. With the Arisen’s future veiled in mystery, what challenges and triumphs await on the path to their destiny?
- Single-Player Cooperation – Up to three mysterious otherworldly beings, known as Pawns, accompany the Arisen throughout their journey. Pawns create the feeling of a cooperative gameplay experience by offering unique characteristics, skills, and knowledge gained from their experiences with other Arisen.
- Made with RE ENGINE – Capcom’s advanced RE ENGINE produces vividly detailed, high fidelity graphics combined with immersive physics and complex and reactive character AI to create a setting where decisions, and their consequences, come to life.
Read dragon cues and attack the weak point
GameSpot’s dragon guide, published March 25, 2024, describes different weak-point cues for green and red dragons: a green dragon’s pulsing chest heart is a weak point, while red dragons have pustulent growths across their bodies. Observe the specific enemy you are fighting and use the visible weak point as your target; do not assume every Unmoored dragon variant behaves exactly as described in the guide.

The same guide describes several attacks to watch for: ground pounds, flame breath, venomous breath from red dragons, lightning strikes associated with a blue-pulsing chest, and explosions associated with a red-pulsing chest. Treat these as cues to recognize and react to, not as a guaranteed attack sequence for every dragon. GameSpot’s Dragon’s Dogma 2 dragon guide is secondary guidance from 2024, not a current patch-specific move list.

GameSpot discusses Thief, Sorcerer, Magick Archer, Mystic Spearhand and Warfarer as options for different damage or defensive approaches. Rather than treating one as the best choice for every fight, consider the job you want your character to do and what the rest of the party already covers.

| Approach | Vocations discussed by GameSpot | Practical trade-off |
|---|---|---|
| Repeated weak-point hits | Thief | Consider this approach if you can stay on a large enemy and keep pressure on its exposed weak points; positioning and openings matter. |
| High-damage spells | Sorcerer | Choose this role if you want spell damage, while accounting for the need to find opportunities to cast safely. |
| Ranged damage or defensive support | Magick Archer, Mystic Spearhand | These are among the guide’s suggested options for differing damage or defensive roles; match the choice to your party’s needs and your familiarity. |
| Flexible role | Warfarer | Consider it if you want to combine approaches; the guide does not establish it as superior in every encounter. |
These are role-based choices drawn from GameSpot’s guide, not results from a controlled comparison. Pick the option you can use reliably and that complements your party.
What dragon victories can provide
GameSpot reports that dragons drop Wyrmslife Crystals, which can be used for progression and for purchases or enhancements through the Dragonforged. Its 2024 guide gives a figure of 10–20 crystals for killing a dragon; this is a secondary guide estimate that may vary by encounter or game version, not a guaranteed reward for every Unmoored World dragon.
What is—and is not—established about the toughest bosses
“Toughest” is an editorial grouping, not an official Capcom ranking. The available sources support general preparation advice, the manual’s large-enemy cling mechanic and dragon combat cues, but they do not establish a complete, current boss-by-boss strategy for Dullahans, Gorechimeras, Lesser Dragons or other demanding Unmoored World encounters. They also do not verify damage values, level requirements, spawn patterns or guaranteed loot for those fights. Use the cues above as a foundation, then read each encounter in game rather than relying on an unsupported universal ranking or build.
