A PlayStation Store “Player’s Choice” sale was reported live on October 7, 2026, with offers for PS5 and PS4 games. The reported schedule and prices vary by region: a Japanese sale catalog lists the event through October 21 at 23:59 JST and says its displayed discount rates are for PS Plus members. Check your own store and account for the actual offer.
What is the Player’s Choice sale?
It is a limited-time digital promotion on the PlayStation Store, not a single game or a physical product. PlayStation Universe reported on October 7, 2026 that the sale includes PS5 and PS4 games. That is a secondary report; the 2026 event details here should be treated as reported rather than as terms confirmed by a Sony announcement. PlayStation Universe

How long does the sale run?
For Japan, the catalog published by ととねこのゲーム攻略所 on October 7 reports that the sale ends October 21, 2026, at 23:59 Japan Standard Time. This is a Japanese storefront schedule, not a global deadline. Other regional stores may show different dates or times. ととねこのゲーム攻略所
What discounts are listed?
The Japanese catalog identifies its displayed discount rates as PS Plus member rates. It reports individual PS5 offers at up to 85%, but that figure is an example from the catalog, not a verified maximum for every game, account, or region. The catalog also notes that its collection may not capture PS Plus prices for games in the Game Catalog or Classics Catalog. ととねこのゲーム攻略所

PlayStation Universe’s headline says “up to 75% off,” but its own visible list includes offers labeled 80% and 85% off. Because those figures conflict, the headline is not a dependable ceiling. Check the specific game’s live store listing rather than relying on a roundup headline. PlayStation Universe
How to check whether an offer is right for you
- Open your regional PlayStation Store. Confirm the currency, price, and local end time for the country tied to your account; the Japanese deadline does not establish the schedule elsewhere.
- Compare the price shown for your account. The Japanese catalog’s discount rates are based on PS Plus membership, so a standard price or a different account’s displayed price may not match.
- Verify the exact game and edition. Check whether the listing is for PS5, PS4, a cross-generation version, a bundle, or an expanded edition before comparing prices or contents.
- Check the item page for the final discount. The English-language report’s headline conflicts with some of its item-level figures, and the official Japanese Store page linked by the catalog does not expose offer details in the captured page text. Official Japanese PlayStation Store
- Account for games you already own or can access. Compare the edition’s contents and your existing library or subscription access; the available listings do not establish the quality or subscription eligibility of individual games.
What is confirmed by Sony?
The Sony announcement located for Player’s Choice is about the 2025 promotion, not this October 2026 sale. It describes the format as a limited-time selection of games at reduced prices, but it cannot confirm the 2026 dates, discounts, or terms. No official Sony announcement for the 2026 event is established by the available reporting. PlayStation Blog
