For official Naughty Dog announcements and release updates, start with the studio’s News archive. Use the Naughty Dog tag on PlayStation.Blog for related platform coverage, and Naughty Dog’s support site for patch notes on released games. The latest confirmed timing: on September 28, 2026, Naughty Dog said it would be quiet for the rest of 2026 and fully reveal Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet in 2027.
Where to find official Naughty Dog updates
| Source | Best for | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| Naughty Dog News | First-party announcements, release and platform information, studio updates, community events, and some patch-related posts | Open the newest dated posts first; use the post date and its stated platforms when sharing an update. |
| PlayStation.Blog Naughty Dog tag | Platform-facing coverage and studio-authored articles | Check the contributor and role shown on the article page as well as its publication date. |
| Naughty Dog Support | Changes to games that have already been released | For example, the PS5 Patch Notes section lists versioned updates for The Last of Us Part I. |
| Naughty Dog official links | Navigation to game pages, announcement trailers and blogs, storefronts, patch notes, collector’s edition information, and merchandise resources | Use dated news posts to verify announcements; a store listing is useful for availability and purchase details, not as a substitute for an announcement. |
What Naughty Dog has confirmed about its next updates
In a Naughty Dog post dated September 28, 2026, studio head Neil Druckmann said the studio would be quiet for the rest of 2026. He wrote: “In 2027, that changes. We’ll fully reveal Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet and give you a proper look at Jordan’s wild sci-fi adventure.” That sets 2027 as the year for a full reveal; it does not establish a release date for the game.

The same post confirmed two new The Last of Us projects in very early stages. Druckmann said both would expand the series canon beyond Parts I and II, but Naughty Dog did not name the projects or give release timing. Treat those details as unannounced until the studio publishes more.
A practical routine for tracking announcements
- Bookmark the Naughty Dog News archive. Check its newest dated posts for the studio’s own announcement or release information.
- Check the PlayStation.Blog Naughty Dog tag. It provides an additional official archive for platform coverage and studio-authored posts. Confirm the author and date on the article itself.
- For an existing game, look at its support patch notes. Use Naughty Dog’s support site and find the relevant platform or game section; the PS5 Patch Notes section includes versioned The Last of Us Part I updates.
- Use the official links page to reach related destinations. Game pages and storefronts can answer where a title is listed or available, while the dated News archive is the better source for when an announcement was made.
- When relaying a date, keep its qualifiers. Include the announcement’s publication date and any platform or geography specified by the source. Do not turn a rumor or an undated store availability listing into a confirmed release date.
Can you get an alert for every Naughty Dog announcement?
The official pages do not establish a single subscription or notification system that guarantees alerts for every announcement. Checking the News archive and PlayStation.Blog tag directly is the dependable approach; if you enable notifications on an official channel, verify its current settings rather than assuming it covers every update.
