Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet is a new PS5 franchise
Naughty Dog announced Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet on December 12, 2024, describing it as a new franchise in development for PlayStation 5. Studio head Neil Druckmann said development had been underway since 2020. The official announcement is available from Naughty Dog.

The story follows Jordan A. Mun, a bounty hunter stranded on the distant planet Sempiria. Communication with the rest of the universe went dark hundreds of years ago; Jordan hopes to become the first person in more than 600 years to leave the planet’s orbit. That 600-year detail describes the fictional setting, not a real-world statistic. Naughty Dog named Tati Gabrielle as Jordan’s performer and Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross as composers.
The studio says it is aiming for an emotional, character-driven journey and its deepest gameplay yet. Those are Naughty Dog’s stated ambitions, not independently demonstrated results. The announcement gives no release date, and the game is not established as available to buy.

Two more The Last of Us projects are confirmed, but undisclosed
In a September 28, 2026 update, Druckmann said Naughty Dog has “a couple of very exciting new projects in very early stages.” He confirmed that both will expand The Last of Us canon beyond Part I and Part II. The update does not identify either project’s title, format, story, characters, platform, or release window. Read the studio’s update.
That confirmation does not establish that either project is The Last of Us Part III. It also does not say whether the projects are games or another kind of work, so assigning them a format or specific story would go beyond what Naughty Dog has disclosed.

When will Intergalactic be shown again?
Druckmann said Naughty Dog would remain quiet about Intergalactic for the rest of 2026, then “fully reveal” it in 2027 and give players a proper look at Jordan’s adventure. This is a plan for a reveal, not a release-date announcement. TechRadar’s September 29, 2026 report also quotes the planned 2027 reveal.
Is Naughty Dog making a new Uncharted?
Naughty Dog is the studio behind Uncharted, but that does not confirm another game is in development. A GamesRadar+ report from October 2026 describes claims attributed to MP1st sources and leaker NateTheHate, while cautioning readers to treat them skeptically. Naughty Dog’s September update did not announce an Uncharted game. The claim should therefore be treated as unconfirmed reporting, not a studio announcement.
