For a premium feature set, consider the SteelSeries Arctis Nova Pro Omni; for sound-focused listening, the Audeze Maxwell 2; and for other priorities, compare the multi-platform and lighter-weight options below.

Which headset suits your priorities?
Choose the Nova Pro Omni for a feature-rich desk setup
TechRadar names the SteelSeries Arctis Nova Pro Omni its best wireless gaming headset overall. Its combination of dongle, Bluetooth 5.3 and LE, wired audio, and two-battery Infinite Power System is aimed at people who switch between devices or want to keep playing while one battery charges. The reported 60-hour total spans two charged batteries; it is not a single-charge estimate.
Choose the Maxwell 2 if sound quality comes first
SoundGuys selects the Audeze Maxwell 2 for sound quality and describes its 90 mm planar magnetic drivers. Its 80+ hour battery figure is also from that guide. “Best sound” here is the publication’s evaluation, not an objective ranking that guarantees you will prefer its tuning; if possible, listen to it alongside alternatives before buying.

Choose a Nova 7 variant for mid-range wireless flexibility
RTINGS describes the Arctis Nova 7 as a mid-range Bluetooth gaming headset with low-latency gaming through its USB dongle, more than 33 hours of continuous playback, and a comfortable, well-built construction. The review also notes that it is less stable on the head than some competitors; in its comparison with the budget Logitech G435, larger heads may find the fit uncomfortable. The Nova 7, 7P, and 7X are not interchangeable labels: match the variant to PC, PlayStation, or Xbox support and check the listing’s dongle compatibility.
Choose the Cloud III S Wireless for a multi-platform shortlist
SoundGuys recommends the HyperX Cloud III S Wireless as a versatile option for multi-platform gamers, highlighting Bluetooth, comfort, and long battery life. The guide lists 113 hours per charge. That is a notably high stated figure, but the guide’s listing alone does not establish the conditions behind it, so check current manufacturer information rather than assuming it applies to every connection mode or use pattern.
Choose the BlackShark V2 Pro (2023) for a light build and mic
Tom’s Hardware names the Razer BlackShark V2 Pro (2023) its overall wireless headset pick and praises its lightweight, comfortable build and microphone. The guide reports 70+ hours of battery life. Its dual wireless connections are not simultaneous, so do not assume you can mix phone Bluetooth and game audio at once. This recommendation is specifically for the 2023 model; do not confuse it with the newer BlackShark V3 Pro, which the guide’s reviewers judged weaker for audio and microphone quality.

Choose the Nova 7X Wireless Gen 2 for Xbox-oriented connections
PC Gamer’s 2026 review covers the Nova 7X Wireless Gen 2, with 2.4 GHz, Bluetooth 5.0, and wired 3.5 mm connections, a retractable microphone, and a listed weight of 332 g. The reviewer describes clear sound detail and decent comfort, and reports about 50 hours on a charge in their testing. The article’s Bluetooth battery claims conflict: its specification table lists up to 38 hours, while later text gives up to 42 hours over Bluetooth and up to 38 hours connected over both. Because those figures do not agree, check the current manufacturer specification instead of relying on one Bluetooth number.
How to choose for your setup
Match the exact model to your console
“Wireless” does not mean every headset works with every console. Check the exact variant, licensing, and whether its USB dongle is supported by your platform. This matters especially within product families such as the Nova 7, which has PC-, PlayStation-, and Xbox-oriented versions. Do not infer compatibility from a family name or a retailer’s broad product title.
Know what each connection is for
- 2.4 GHz USB dongle: The gaming-oriented wireless connection in these recommendations, intended for low-latency play.
- Bluetooth: Useful for phones and other general devices. Its presence does not by itself mean you can hear Bluetooth and game audio simultaneously.
- Wired audio: Available on the Nova Pro Omni and Nova 7X Gen 2 in the cited guides. Check the port and console requirements for the exact version.
Simultaneous connections vary by headset: the BlackShark V2 Pro (2023) does not support simultaneous use of its two wireless connections, while the Nova Pro Omni is described with multiple connection types. Confirm the behavior you need in the current product documentation.

Read battery life as a mode-specific claim
Battery estimates are not directly comparable unless they refer to the same connection and usage conditions. A total across two swappable batteries, a per-charge estimate, and runtime over Bluetooth are different measures. Volume, microphone use, simultaneous connections, and other settings may also affect real-world runtime; the cited guides do not establish one standardized test across these models. For a long-session setup, check whether a figure is per battery or across a battery system and which wireless mode it covers.
Judge comfort by fit, not just weight
A weight or a reviewer’s positive impression cannot predict how a headset will feel on every head. Head shape, glasses, clamp force, earcup depth, and a warm room can change comfort over a long session. If comfort is a priority, check the return policy and try the fit for a sustained session; look for fit comments specific to your head size and glasses use, not just a general “comfortable” label.

Sound preferences differ, and reviewer descriptions such as “clear detail” or “best sound quality” are evaluations rather than a guarantee of your preferred tuning or positional cues. For competitive play, make sure the headset works in your game and platform setup, then consider whether its sound presentation helps you distinguish the cues you care about. If you communicate often, give microphone tests and noise handling more weight than a headline battery figure; Tom’s Hardware particularly highlights the BlackShark V2 Pro (2023) microphone.
Quick Recap
Before you buy
- Confirm the exact model year and platform variant in the product listing.

- Look for fit information relevant to your head size, glasses, and typical session length.
- Verify current price, availability, and manufacturer specifications on the seller’s or brand’s listing; the cited guides do not establish current prices.
