Most importantly, the Xbox edition’s wireless dongle has a switch: set it to XBOX for an Xbox console and USB for PC or PlayStation. Then connect using a mode supported by your device and select the headset for audio and microphone input if needed.
Before connecting: identify your edition and connection mode
Use the support page for your specific edition: Razer BlackShark V3 Pro support, BlackShark V3 Pro PlayStation Edition support, or BlackShark V3 Pro Xbox Edition support. Razer lists four connection types across the family: 2.4 GHz wireless with the USB dongle, Bluetooth, USB wired, and 3.5 mm wired. Which mode is suitable depends on the device and the feature you need.
If you have the Xbox edition, check the switch on its HyperSpeed Wireless Gen-2 dongle before plugging it in. Razer’s Xbox instructions specify XBOX for an Xbox console and USB for PC or PlayStation. The editions are not interchangeable in every setup detail: the Xbox page lists game/chat balance controls, while the PlayStation page lists sidetone control.
How do I connect the Razer BlackShark V3 Pro to my PC?
- Choose a connection. Connect the USB wireless dongle for 2.4 GHz wireless, pair over Bluetooth, or use USB or 3.5 mm wired audio as appropriate for your PC.
- Set the Xbox-edition dongle correctly. If you have the Xbox edition, move its switch to USB before connecting it to the PC.
- Select the headset in Windows if it is not already active. In Windows sound settings, choose the BlackShark V3 Pro as the output device for playback and as the input device for the microphone.
- Configure it with Razer software. Razer points users to Synapse for headset configuration and THX Spatial Audio. Xbox-edition owners can also use Razer Audio Setup for Xbox on PC. For the Xbox page’s 7.1.4 surround sound feature, Razer specifies Synapse on Windows 11 version 23H2 or later; check the current support page for software and operating-system requirements.
THX Spatial Audio is a Windows feature. Don’t assume that every connection mode exposes the same software controls; consult the relevant edition’s current Razer support page for setup details.

How do I set up the BlackShark V3 Pro on PS5 or PS4?
- Connect the headset. The PlayStation edition supports PS5 and PS4 and lists 2.4 GHz wireless through its dongle, Bluetooth, USB wired, and 3.5 mm wired connections.
- Set the Xbox-edition dongle to USB, if applicable. The Xbox edition’s switch should be in USB mode when you use that dongle with PlayStation.
- Check the console’s audio devices. In the console’s audio settings, select the headset for audio output and microphone input as needed.
- Check the headset’s mute control if chat audio fails. Make sure the microphone mute toggle is off and that the headset is selected as the input device.
Razer lists Bluetooth as a connection option, but its cited setup guidance does not establish that every Bluetooth setup supports PlayStation game chat. If you need voice chat, verify the behavior for your edition and connection mode rather than assuming it.
How do I connect the BlackShark V3 Pro to Xbox?
For Xbox console use, follow the Xbox-edition instructions: set the HyperSpeed Wireless Gen-2 dongle switch to XBOX, then connect the USB-A end to the console. Razer lists Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One X/One compatibility on its Xbox support page.

The Razer Audio Setup for Xbox app can be used to customize EQ profiles and remap controls. Razer says PC users can download the app from the Microsoft Store. Check the Xbox edition support page for current app and firmware information.
Why is my BlackShark V3 Pro microphone not working?
- Check the headset’s mute control. Confirm that the microphone mute toggle is off.
- Check the selected input. Select the BlackShark V3 Pro as the microphone input in Windows or the console’s audio settings.
- Check the Xbox dongle switch. For Xbox console use, it must be set to XBOX; for PC or PlayStation, set it to USB.
- Check the connection mode. Razer lists multiple wired and wireless modes, but does not establish that every Bluetooth and game-chat combination behaves identically. Try a supported alternative connection if chat remains unavailable.
Which edition and features should I expect?
Razer’s product specifications are manufacturer figures, not independent measurements. Battery-life figures below are stated as “up to” values and depend on the named connection and device context.

Use the support page matching your edition for firmware, software availability, and updated requirements rather than relying on an updater version that may have changed. Razer’s pages list the general and Xbox editions’ firmware v1.4.4_r1 dated September 1, 2026, and the PlayStation edition’s firmware v1.3.3_r1 dated April 28, 2026.
