Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Persona 5 Royal’s Windows version was reportedly cracked in December 2025, about three years after its Steam release. The claim comes from a report about the piracy group MKDEV—not from confirmation by ATLUS, SEGA, or Denuvo—and available user comments do not establish whether the initial release could reliably complete the game.
What was reportedly cracked?
The report concerns the Windows/PC version of Persona 5 Royal, not every edition of the game on consoles. VGTimes reported on December 14, 2025, that MKDEV had announced a crack. That is secondary reporting of a piracy-scene claim; ATLUS, SEGA, and Denuvo have not confirmed it in the sources available here. VGTimes’ December 14 report covers the claim.
Why is it described as “after three years”?
Steam lists October 20, 2022, as the PC release date and identifies Denuvo as third-party DRM on the game’s store page. The report appeared on December 14, 2025, so “after three years” is a rounded description of the time between release and the reported announcement—not an official milestone or a verified date of when the crack first became available. Steam’s listing for Persona 5 Royal provides the release date and DRM information.
Does the reported release work through the whole game?
That has not been established. In a Steam Community thread dated December 14, 2025, users described the initial release as a test version, and one commenter reported a crash around chapter four. Those are contemporaneous, anecdotal comments, not an independent test or a reliable assessment of later builds. They do not show whether the game can be completed, how it performs, or whether subsequent versions addressed the reported issue. The Steam Community discussion records those user comments.

What about legitimate versions and updates?
Persona 5 Royal is available across multiple platforms, but editions and current availability can differ. ATLUS’s official site is the place to check the game’s platform context; its listing does not confirm the reported crack. ATLUS’s Persona 5 Royal site lists the game and its platforms. For the PC edition specifically, consult the current Steam listing for its present store and DRM details.
Patch information should also be read in context: ATLUS West’s notes dated January 10, 2023, list Windows version 1.04 and Steam version 1.03 at that time. Those are historical version numbers, not evidence of the current build. ATLUS West’s patch notes document those updates.
