BGR’s January 21, 2024 snapshot ranked Hades II first among Steam’s most-wishlisted games, followed by Manor Lords and Hollow Knight: Silksong. It was an early-year list—not a final ranking for 2024 or a list limited to games released that year.
The 10 most-wishlisted Steam games in BGR’s January 2024 list
The order below is the one published by Jacob Siegal at BGR on January 21, 2024. BGR noted that Steam’s wishlist list is updated regularly, so this ranking should be read as a snapshot rather than a fixed annual chart. BGR’s list

How to read a Steam wishlist ranking
Steam’s Popular Upcoming list is not necessarily an annual leaderboard. In an October 2023 presentation, Valve’s Steam Business Team described Popular Upcoming as “a list of the most Wishlisted upcoming games, sorted by release date.” Valve also discussed wishlists among the inputs related to Steam visibility. That platform context helps explain why wishlist interest matters, but it does not establish the precise method behind BGR’s January ordering or make it an official year-end ranking. One notable change later in 2024
Black Myth: Wukong later reached the top of a pre-release wishlist ranking: Alinea Analytics reported that it reached peak rank #1 on August 19, 2024. Alinea says its figures are estimates and that it is not affiliated with Steam or Valve. This later milestone shows that the January positions were not permanent, but it is not a complete year-end top-ten list and does not verify the earlier ranking.
