EA Sports UFC 6 is out for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, and it already makes meaningful changes to career and fight gameplay. The ten ideas below are recommendations for where the game could go next—not a claim that every player agrees or that any listed issue remains unfixed. EA has continued updating the game, so check its UFC 6 updates for the latest changes.
What UFC 6 already changed
EA describes UFC 6 as a substantial step forward from UFC 5, particularly in career structure and combat feel. The comparison is useful because a wishlist should build on what is already there rather than mistake new features for missing ones.

| Career structure | Players spent time progressing through the Amateur and WFA leagues before reaching the UFC, according to EA. | A separate narrative prologue, The Legacy, teaches core systems and leads into a redesigned career that gets players to UFC competition sooner. (EA, May 28, 2026) |
| Career choices and story | Baseline for EA’s comparison. | EA says the mode has ten times as many choices as UFC 5 and more than 150 narrative events. Those are publisher-reported counts, not independent measures of how meaningful the choices feel. (EA Investor Relations, 2026; EA, May 28, 2026) |
| Fighter identity and combat goals | EA’s UFC 5 gameplay overview is the earlier reference point; it does not establish a direct independent comparison of quality. | EA describes 30 unique Flow States, fighter-specific movement and animations, and goals of greater responsiveness, deliberate movement and more distinct fighters. These are EA’s descriptions and development aims. (EA UFC 6 product page; EA developer Q&A, June 2026) |
Here are ten ways a future update or sequel could deepen those foundations.
1. Make career decisions matter for longer
UFC 6 already has more choices, narrative events and risk-and-reward outcomes. EA says decisions can affect progression, hype, fandom, cash, attributes and fitness. A further step would connect choices to a fighter’s longer-term story: a rivalry could shape later opportunities, a coaching decision could change how a fighter develops, and a risky career trade-off could have consequences beyond the next bout.

- Standard Edition for PlayStation 5 (disc) includes the full EA Sports UFC 6 game.
- Powered by fighters: advanced striking and motion systems bring UFC stars to life with more realistic movement, impact, and responsiveness in every exchange.
- Step into the Octagon: refined gameplay delivers tighter controls, fluid animations, and authentic MMA action.
- Fight your story: new immersive modes add narrative depth, making every bout feel personal and driven by your choices.
The goal would not be simply to add more decisions. It would be to make the consequences legible and lasting, so players can see how their choices helped create a particular career.
2. Build a richer world around the fight schedule
The Legacy introduces characters, environments, social media, rivalries and story scenes. The opportunity is to carry more of that variety into the repeatable UFC career loop. Training, promotion, relationships and the lead-up to a bout could make a season feel like a career in motion rather than a sequence of fight cards. This is a design recommendation, not an established shortcoming in the released mode.
3. Make fighter styles distinct without deciding matchups in advance
EA says UFC 6 features 30 unique Flow States alongside fighter-specific movement and animations. The next challenge is making those differences matter across more situations while keeping the matchups fair. Distinct styles should reward recognizable tactics and help players understand why a fighter feels different, without making a result seem predetermined by a special state or animation.

- Realistic Damage System: Based on the damage you deal and insert in the game, lacerations, bruises and swelling occur in exactly the right places
- Seamless Submissions: The new Seamless Submissions are a revised extension of existing grappling systems with faster animations and removal of mini-games
- Cinematic K.O. Replays: The cinematic K.O. demonstrates the most important updates of UFC in a truly innovative way
- Enhanced Fight Endings: From newly added ways to draw whether offline or online, to realistic updates of referee decisions to protect a fighter on the ground from too much ground-and-pound, the way fighting can end in UFC 5 has improved in number and authenticity
- Battle Week Challenges: Features and content that connect you to blockbuster UFC cards in an unprecedented way with all-new challenges
4. Keep refining striking responsiveness and risk
EA says it aimed for faster, more responsive striking and more meaningful exchanges. Its development team also said: “The biggest piece of feedback we heard from the community was that they wanted more control over the outcome of a fight.” That is EA’s account of the feedback it received, not a representative survey result.

Hit reactions and the risks of committing to an exchange should be readable: players should be able to understand why an attack succeeded, failed or left them vulnerable. These are criteria for future tuning, not claims that a specific problem persists after the latest update.
5. Give grappling and clinch decisions comparable depth
Striking is only one way to express a game plan. Grappling and clinch exchanges could offer similarly meaningful choices, with clearer transitions and more room to set up, counter or escape. A January 2025 Reddit wishlist used the phrase “BETTER CLINCH MECHANICS”; that is one community post, not evidence of broad or current consensus. It does, however, capture a clear design opportunity: make clinch and ground exchanges feel like active contests rather than pauses between striking.

6. Add more recognizable signature techniques
Fighter identity can come through in more than ratings, movement and Flow State. A wider set of signature techniques and fighter-specific moments could make athletes easier to recognize in play, where those additions fit the real fighters represented in the game. The same Reddit wishlist asked for “more signature moves,” while EA has said players wanted more distinct fighters. Neither establishes that the roster has been comprehensively assessed; the proposal is to expand identity thoughtfully, not indiscriminately.
7. Explore optional historical rules and presentation
Some players may want ways to revisit different eras of mixed martial arts through rules, arenas or presentation. The Reddit wishlist mentioned “Pride mode,” an example of that kind of request—not proof of broad demand or confirmation that such a mode is planned. Optional historical rulesets or presentation packs could add variety if licensing and design make them feasible, while leaving the standard UFC experience intact.

8. Add advanced practice without making veterans repeat the basics
The Legacy is already a narrative onboarding path that teaches gameplay and metagame systems. A useful complement would be optional, skippable advanced lessons and practice tools aimed at returning players. These could help players work on specific systems or situations without requiring them to replay introductory material before reaching the modes they want.

- FUN & EASY HOOP PLAY: Players of any age and level can learn the basics and play in style as they shoot, dunk, and block.
- CO-OP ON THE COURTS: Shoot hoops with family and friends and amp up the challenge with up to 4 players.

- BUILD YOUR PERFECT LINEUP: Choose an Eastern or Western Conference team and design your players from the hair to the sneakers and funky trails.
9. Make update notes useful for players tracking balance
EA’s UFC 6 news and updates index lists updates through September 10, 2026. As the game evolves, clear notes can help players understand what changed and why. Useful updates would explain competitive effects where possible, identify known issues and show when follow-up tuning is being considered. The existence of updates alone does not establish that a particular stability, matchmaking or balance issue remains unresolved.
10. Consider wider platform access
EA lists UFC 6 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. A January 2025 Reddit post asked for a PC release before the game launched; that older request is anecdotal, not proof of demand or a platform announcement. Wider access could let more players join in, but platform availability should be checked against EA’s current product information rather than inferred from a pre-launch post.
The strongest next steps would add consequence to career choices, keep fighter identities recognizable and ensure that striking, clinch and grappling all offer expressive decisions. Those are proposals for future improvement, not a ranking of verified defects or a claim that all players share the same priorities.
