The Xbox Games Showcase took place on June 8, 2025, so the question is now which pre-show predictions came close. A June 7 FandomWire preview speculated about six possible appearances, while separate reporting pointed to an Atlus Persona 4 remake—which was announced as Persona 4 Revival. The exact ten-game list implied by the original headline cannot be confirmed, so the six names below are attributed to that preview rather than presented as a definitive leak.
What the pre-show preview expected
FandomWire’s June 7, 2025 preview named the following possibilities. These were that outlet’s expectations, not confirmed announcements or proof of industry-wide rumors.
- Forza Horizon 6: The preview said Playground Games “may finally be ready” to show the game. Japan as its setting was described as a rumor, not a confirmed detail.
- Gears of War: E-Day: FandomWire anticipated an update after the game’s showing the previous year.
- A new Call of Duty: The preview said a new entry could appear. Its description of the game as a “true sequel to 2012’s Black Ops 2” was itself rumor, not confirmation.
- Perfect Dark: The preview expected more after the prior year’s gameplay reveal; a playable demo or release window were possibilities, not established plans.
- Halo: FandomWire floated possible news about a next Halo or the rumored Halo: Combat Evolved remake.
- The Elder Scrolls VI: The preview called an update a long shot and cautioned readers to keep expectations in check.
Which rumor came true?
Persona 4 Revival
Windows Central’s June 2025 archive records pre-show reports that an Atlus Persona 4 remake would be announced during the showcase. Its June 8 entries then report the official announcement of Persona 4 Revival. That makes this a traceable prediction that came true in broad terms; it does not validate every other pre-show guess.
Other announcements put the guesses in context
The same Windows Central archive records showcase announcements and news including Grounded 2, Clockwork Revolution, Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy, and details about The Outer Worlds 2. TrueAchievements summarized the 2025 presentation as featuring 31 game reveals and announcements, including Final Fantasy XVI’s Xbox release and Persona 4 Revival. The figure is TrueAchievements’ event summary, not a count of rumors that proved accurate.

The available attributable preview names six possibilities, and the pre-show Persona 4 remake report is documented separately. That evidence does not establish the exact ten names implied by the original headline. It also matters what a prediction actually claimed: an appearance guess is different from a confirmed announcement, a new reveal is different from an update to an already known project, and a rumored setting or release detail is more specific than simply expecting a game to be shown.
