Fallout Fan Builds: In-Game Creations, Props, and Cosplay

Fallout builds can be in-game creations, cosplay, hand-built props, or licensed collectibles. Here’s how to tell them apart and what a useful gallery should include.

Fallout fan builds take two main forms: creations inside games such as Fallout 76 C.A.M.P.s and Fallout 4 settlements, and physical props, cosplay, and display pieces inspired by the series. This guide explains what to look for in each kind—and why a gallery of 111 specific builds needs verified examples rather than an unsupported count.

What counts as a Fallout fan build?

“Build” can mean a designed space in a Fallout game or something made by hand in the real world. Those are different kinds of work, so a useful gallery should label each entry clearly rather than treating a settlement, a wearable costume, and a licensed replica as interchangeable.

  • In-game build: a C.A.M.P. in Fallout 76 or a settlement/workshop creation in Fallout 4.
  • Wearable: cosplay or a prop intended to be worn as part of a costume.
  • Hand-built prop or display piece: an original fan-made object made for display or use.
  • Licensed collectible: an official product, not a fan-made build, even when the owner assembles it.

Fallout 76 C.A.M.P.s and Best Builds

Fallout 76 has an official Best Builds feature for showcasing player creations and contributing to the community. Bethesda says the feature can also showcase role-playing and community groups, and describes it this way: “Best Builds isn’t just about showing off your creativity—it’s a chance to contribute to the Fallout 76 community.” Read Bethesda’s Best Builds feature.

When assessing a C.A.M.P., look beyond its theme. A reader should be able to tell what game mode it belongs to, how its layout uses the available footprint, what is functional versus decorative, and whether the creator says visitors can see it or others can recreate it. Resource requirements and item lists should be included only when the creator or a reliable source verifies them.

Fallout 4 settlement and workshop creations

Fallout 4’s Creations catalog includes community content for construction. One featured kitchen creation is described by Bethesda as containing 48 workshop objects and more than 360 variants; those are the listing’s figures for that creation, not a count or measure of Fallout builds generally. Browse Fallout 4 Creations.

For settlement inspiration, identify whether a design is a full settlement, a workshop room, or a set of objects added to a larger build. Note the game and any stated requirements, and distinguish a creator’s documented item list from an estimate based on screenshots.

Physical Fallout props, cosplay, and display builds

Real-world examples range from original fan-made props to official kits. Bethesda describes its Pip-Boy 3000 Mk V Overseer’s Edition as a 40-component kit made with die-cast metal and engineering injection-moulded ABS, intended for assembly into a display-grade replica, cosplay, or display. It is an official licensed product, not an independently made fan build. See the Pip-Boy 3000 Mk V Overseer’s Edition.

Bethesda Softworks’ 2025 merchandise announcement describes a Caps Stash tin containing 20 bottle caps, positioned as a cosplay accessory, gaming tokens, or a barter prop. The announcement documents that product description, not its current stock or availability. Read Bethesda’s merchandise announcement.

For an original fan-made prop or costume, the useful details are its intended use (wearable or display-only), materials and construction method when the maker has shared them, scale, and finish. Avoid inferring durability, safety, or build effort from photographs alone.

How a 111-build gallery can be useful

The number 111 is not established by the available official game and product sources as a count of verified fan creations. A gallery using that title should earn the number with 111 individually checked entries, not imply that an official list exists. Each image should be credited and used with permission, and each entry should link to or identify its original creator source.
