The latest patch listed in the checked tracker view was Patch 2.1, released March 25, 2026. That patch fixed several specific crashes and gameplay issues, but past patch notes are not evidence that a bug is still active on your current build.
Known Avowed bugs: what the official tracker says
When checked on October 4, 2026, Obsidian’s Avowed Issue Tracker showed these examples:
- Fixed on Live: PS5 controller rebinds resetting to defaults after closing the game.
- Workaround: Marius’ Hunter’s Sense appearing twice in the radial menu after recruiting him.
- Investigating: “Devastating Criticals” not affecting the Character tab.
These labels describe the tracker’s status for the listed reports, not every player’s experience or every possible issue. The tracker can change, so check it directly for the current status of a specific problem.
What recent Avowed patches fixed
Patch 2.1
Obsidian’s latest patch surfaced in the tracker’s patch list, Patch 2.1, was published March 25, 2026. It fixed a third-person character stuck leaning right, a crash when engaging a Skeleton Barbarian, and a crash when opening Photo Mode near a Xaurip Elder. It also addressed companions failing to look at the Envoy during party-camp conversations between regions and cooldown behavior involving loadouts and grimoires. The patch added a setting to disable respawning enemies at three encounters per region.

Those are historical fixes, not a list of confirmed active bugs. If one sounds like your problem, compare your installed version with the current game version and check the tracker before assuming the fix is missing or still needed.
Patch 2.0 and earlier fixes
The Patch 2.0 announcement, published February 17, 2026, described fixes across crashes and stability, performance, animation, audio, quests and conversations, UI, and combat. Examples included a crash after clearing Fog of War, NPC state after creating saves, companion animation stutter, cooking audio, and a conversation camera issue. Obsidian said this substantial Anniversary Update ended its announced post-launch roadmap; Patch 2.1 followed in March, so that announcement should not be read as a promise that no further maintenance would occur.

Earlier, Patch 1.5, published July 14, 2025, addressed GPU crashes and a quest progression blocker involving Xaurips in Dehengen’s cabin, among other gameplay and performance changes. Older patch notes can help identify whether a known issue was addressed, but they do not establish what remains broken today.
How to troubleshoot Avowed crashes on PC
Obsidian’s crash guidance is for PC; it is not a universal fix list for Xbox or PS5. The suggestions below are troubleshooting steps, not guaranteed repairs. Start with the symptom and change one setting at a time so you can tell whether anything helps.

- Check system requirements and updates. Confirm the PC meets Avowed’s minimum requirements, install Windows updates, and update the graphics driver. Obsidian also suggests trying a clean driver installation when available.
- Verify or repair the game files. Use the file verification or repair option in the platform where you installed the game.
- Check heat and overclocking. Look for overheating and test without overclocking. If your PC uses a 13th- or 14th-generation Intel CPU, Obsidian also recommends checking for a motherboard BIOS update.
- Test graphics options if stability or performance is affected. Obsidian suggests checking ray tracing, upscaling, and NVIDIA Reflex Low Latency settings. Change only what is relevant to your setup and retest.
- If the game will not start, test the no-ray-tracing launch option. Add
-noraytracingto the game’s startup parameters. If the game starts, turn ray tracing off in Graphics settings, apply the change, exit the game, and restart.

If an issue is reproducible or missing from the tracker, Obsidian asks players to send a concise report through its support portal or to support. Include the details that help distinguish a repeatable bug from a one-off problem:

- A brief summary of what went wrong.
- Your platform and, for PC, system specifications.
- A screenshot or video clip, if available.
- Steps to reproduce the issue, if you can identify them.
- A save from before the issue occurred, if available.
Obsidian notes that diagnostic files can contain details that identify your computer; inspect them before sharing if you have privacy concerns. Its issue-reporting instructions explain how to package and submit available materials. A report helps provide useful information, but it does not guarantee a fix or a response by a particular date.
