How to build a hairstyle in Gacha Life
The official Gacha Life listing describes a character editor that lets players change hairstyles. Pocket Gamer’s guide groups hair choices into five sections: rear hair, back hair, front hair (bangs), ponytail, and hair tip. It also describes base, fade, tip, and accessory colors.

- Open Dress Up, choose your character, and tap Hair.
- Set the rear hair, back hair, and front hair to establish the main shape.
- Add a ponytail or hair tip if the recipe calls for one; a zero means no selection for that section in the recipe.
- Choose base and accent colors, then check the finished silhouette alongside the character’s clothes and accessories.
These are design suggestions, not fixed rules about what a character must look like. A tidy shape can support a formal outfit, while a deliberately tousled one can create contrast or reinforce an energetic design. Pocket Gamer’s advice is to avoid loose, messy strands when aiming for a formal look. Read the guide.

For a different menu layout or item numbering, match the section combination and overall shape rather than forcing the listed numbers. Start with the hair silhouette, then test colors against the outfit: a contrasting accent can draw attention, while repeating a clothing or accessory color can make the full design feel coordinated.
