Start by choosing left, middle or right, then follow the route-specific interactions below. The hidden twelfth record requires a lantern puzzle on the middle route.
Unlock Mount Rokkon and start a route
Mount Rokkon is a level 90 Variant Dungeon introduced in Patch 6.45. To unlock it, complete the Endwalker main scenario, speak with Osmon in Old Sharlayan, then accept “Mononoke Aware” from Shallow Moor. Enter through the V&C Dungeon Finder. Variant mode supports solo play or parties of up to four, without a fixed role composition when matched; you can select up to two Variant Actions and change them after entering.
There are three initial route choices, but the choices and enemy behavior within each branch produce different endings. The first boss, Yozakura the Fleeting, appears on every route. The later encounters depend on your branch and actions: the ordinary final bosses are Moko the Restless on the left, Gorai the Uncaged on the middle and Shishio on the right. The middle route’s secret passage leads to Enenra. Route choices can also alter boss mechanics, so a branch may play differently across records.
Left route: records 1–4
Choose the left entrance. Records 1 and 2 use the crystal-ball room’s orb and differ only in what you do with the katana case. Records 3 and 4 use a statue puzzle and differ in how you handle an Apa in the final Upper Pagoda enemy group.

| Record | Route triggers |
|---|---|
| 1. Gift of the Onmyoji | Leave both statues in the crystal-ball room untouched and activate the orb. After Hancock examines the katana case, close it. |
| 2. The Crimson Sword | Use the same untouched-statues and orb route as record 1, but leave the katana case open after Hancock inspects it. |
| 3. A Tale of Dead Men | Turn Seiryu east toward Suzaku and Suzaku south toward the large doors, then activate the orb. In the final Upper Pagoda group, let the Apa finish casting Water III before defeating it. |
| 4. Forging a Legacy | Use the same statue alignment and orb as record 3. In the last Upper Pagoda pack, defeat the Apa before Water III resolves, or interrupt its cast. |
Middle route: records 5–7 and the hidden record 12
Choose the middle entrance. Records 5 and 6 hinge on the decision about the Shishu White Baboon after the enemies before the second boss are defeated. Records 7 and 12 both use the crates and woven rope after the tiger encounter; the secret record adds a specific lantern-enemy puzzle.
| Record | Route triggers |
|---|---|
| 5. The Luthier and the Songstress | Defeat the enemies before the second boss, then choose the deal when asked whether to spare the Shishu White Baboon. |
| 6. Lost to Avarice | Follow the same route and defeat the same enemies, but choose to think about the baboon’s offer instead of making the deal. |
| 7. Beyond the Lanterns’ Light | After the tiger encounter, climb the crates to the upper floor and pull the woven rope. Wait for Hancock, then defeat the Shishu Chochin normally. |
| 12. The Ogiseru’s Fate (hidden Enenra route) | After the tiger, climb the crates and pull the rope. When three lantern enemies appear upstairs, aggro each one and bring them down individually. Position each enemy so its death cone points at one of the three unlit lanterns on the patterned wall. Once all three lanterns are lit, interact with the lantern on the blank wall to open the passage to Enenra. |
Right route: records 8–11
Choose the right entrance. First decide whether to interact with the Rokkon Sentinel. Ignoring it leads to records 8 or 9, depending on whether you activate the four Stones of Protection. Using it enables the dogu-and-shrine route for records 10 and 11.
