The best game to play after Dispatch depends on which part you want more of: for character-led choices, start with The Walking Dead: The Telltale Definitive Series or The Wolf Among Us; for superhero storytelling, try Batman: The Telltale Series or Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy; and for operational pressure, look at This Is the Police or 911 Operator. None is a direct substitute for Dispatch’s combination of workplace comedy, branching relationships, and tactical hero deployment.
What makes a game feel like Dispatch?
Dispatch is a superhero workplace comedy set in modern Los Angeles. Robert Robertson, formerly the armored hero Mecha Man, joins a superhero dispatch center after his mech suit is destroyed. He manages a team of ex-supervillains while handling workplace relationships, romance, and the effort to rebuild his suit. Choices affect relationships, allegiances, and the story path; during shifts, players assess emergencies, send heroes, and weigh risks while accounting for the team’s skills and quirks. PlayStation’s game overview outlines the premise and its choice-driven structure.
That mix gives recommendations two distinct targets: interactive character drama and a dispatch-and-roster-management loop. Xbox Wire reports that AdHoc Studio aimed to connect cinematic story scenes with gameplay shifts, so that the shifts would not interrupt the story’s momentum; choices also shape dispatch options, while mission performance feeds back into the narrative. Xbox Wire’s interview with co-creative director Dennis Lenart discusses that design goal.
Best games like Dispatch for story and character choices
The Walking Dead: The Telltale Definitive Series
Choose this if you want an episodic ensemble drama in which character relationships and decisions drive the experience. It is a narrative-adventure match, not a superhero workplace comedy, and it has no equivalent to Dispatch’s hero-deployment shifts. Plarium’s June 15, 2026 roundup lists it as an interactive drama and narrative adventure.

The Wolf Among Us
The Wolf Among Us pairs a comic-book world with a noir mystery, making it a strong pick if you want authored characters and a distinctive setting more than management. It is also a useful creative point of comparison: PlayStation identifies members of Dispatch’s writing and directing team with prior work on the game. The two titles have different premises and do not share a dispatch-management loop. PlayStation’s overview and Plarium’s roundup describe those connections and genre fits.
Detroit: Become Human
Pick Detroit: Become Human for cinematic, branching drama. It is the closest fit here if your priority is consequential narrative choices over a management system; it is not about superheroes or running a dispatch team. Plarium categorizes it as an interactive drama with a branching narrative. Plarium’s roundup provides that genre comparison.

Life is Strange: True Colors
If relationships and emotional storytelling matter more to you than the superhero premise, Life is Strange: True Colors offers a character-focused narrative adventure. Its small-town setting and mechanics differ from Dispatch, and it does not reproduce the emergency-response shifts. Plarium’s roundup describes its relationship-centered approach.
Best games like Dispatch for superheroes and team dynamics
Batman: The Telltale Series
This is a good choice if you want a superhero story shaped by decisions, with attention to both Bruce Wayne and Batman. Its hero and structure differ from Dispatch’s ensemble workplace comedy, and it does not offer the same dispatch-and-roster layer. Plarium describes it as a superhero narrative adventure with a two-sided focus on Bruce Wayne and Batman. Plarium’s roundup explains the comparison.

Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy
Choose Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy for a team-centered superhero adventure with a narrative focus. It is a thematic match for the cast and superhero angle, rather than a substitute for assigning heroes to emergencies or managing their operational strengths. Plarium classifies it as a superhero action-adventure with narrative emphasis. Plarium’s roundup makes that distinction.

This Is the Police
This Is the Police is the better place to start if your favorite part of Dispatch is balancing personnel and operational demands. It leans toward strategy and management rather than superhero relationships or workplace comedy, so expect a different kind of story and cast. Plarium’s roundup recommends it for players seeking more management.

911 Operator
For emergency-response dispatch pressure, consider 911 Operator. It is the most direct match for the act of handling calls and allocating responders, but Plarium notes that it puts less emphasis on narrative than Dispatch. Choose it for the operational premise, not for an equivalent cast-driven story. Plarium’s roundup categorizes it as simulation and strategy.
