As of October 4, 2026, WZStats’ ranked REDSEC Battle Royale snapshot lists the KTS100 Mk8, SGX, M2010 ESR, SVDM, SG-553R, and KORD 6P67 as the leading weapons in their respective categories. That is a dated third-party ranking—not an official EA tier list or proof of win-rate advantage—and several leaders are among the weapons EA says it plans to rebalance for Season 5.
REDSEC’s category leaders right now
WZStats’ ranked Battle Royale page, labeled updated October 4, 2026, puts these weapons first in their categories:
| Category | #1 in WZStats’ October 4 ranking | #2 shown |
|---|---|---|
| LMG | KTS100 Mk8 | RPK-74M |
| SMG | SGX | PP-19 |
| Sniper rifle | M2010 ESR | PSR |
| DMR | SVDM | M39 EMR |
| Carbine | SG-553R | AK-205 |
| Assault rifle | KORD 6P67 | VCR-2 |
These are category placements on WZStats’ ranked Battle Royale meta page, not an objective measurement of which gun wins most fights. The page material reviewed does not provide ranking methodology, pick rates, sample size, or performance statistics. Treat the order as a useful snapshot of what the site ranks, not a guarantee that the first-listed weapon will suit every player or situation.
Choose by the fight you expect to take
There is no category-independent best weapon established by this ranking. REDSEC fights can span very different distances, so choose weapons that cover the engagements you are likely to face rather than comparing an SMG directly with a sniper rifle. A close-range option and a weapon suited to longer sightlines can fill different jobs in the same match. PC Gamer’s October 2025 launch-era guide discusses that general range distinction, but its weapon prescriptions are not current meta evidence: PC Gamer’s Redsec weapon guide.

For close-range fights
The SGX is WZStats’ top-ranked SMG. Consider an SMG when your priority is close-quarters engagements; the ranking alone does not establish how it compares with other categories at a given distance.
For longer sightlines
The M2010 ESR leads the sniper rifle category, while the SVDM leads DMRs. These roles address longer-range engagements, but the available ranking does not establish exact damage, recoil, time-to-kill, or which is better for a particular build.

For a general rifle role
The KORD 6P67 is first among assault rifles and the SG-553R is first among carbines in the same WZStats snapshot. Those category labels can help narrow your choices, but they do not show that either is the best weapon overall.
For LMGs
The KTS100 Mk8 leads the LMG category, with the RPK-74M listed second. The KTS100 is also one of the weapons EA has named as a Season 5 balance target, so its current placement may not remain a useful guide after those changes arrive.

Season 5 could change the shortlist
In its October 1, 2026 preview, EA said it plans REDSEC meta-related weapon balance changes for the KTS100 Mk8, SCW-10, SVDM, SG553R, and KV9. The KTS100 Mk8, SVDM, and SG-553R appear as category leaders in the October 4 WZStats ranking. EA had not yet published the detailed adjustments in that preview, so there is no basis to predict whether any named weapon will become stronger or weaker. Check EA’s Season 5 and Beyond announcement and later update notes before treating this list as current after the changes.
Playlist changes matter to weapon choices
EA’s September 30 community update said Rapid Royale, a faster-paced Battle Royale experience, is coming to REDSEC. EA also said the current rotation between Battle Royale Solos and Duos would end at the beginning of Season 5; Duos was planned to return later in the season. Its stated intended direction for future rotation was Rapid Royale Solos and Battle Royale Duos, subject to matchmaking data and player experience. These were plans, not a finalized permanent playlist schedule. A faster-paced mode may change the kinds of encounters you prioritize, but the announcement does not establish a different weapon ranking for Rapid Royale. See EA’s September 30 community update for the stated plans.

How to use the list without overreading it
- Start with the role and range you want to cover, then use the category leader as a candidate rather than an automatic pick.
- Use WZStats’ category order as an attributed third-party snapshot; it is not EA’s official tier list and does not include performance statistics in the reviewed material.
- Recheck after Season 5’s balance changes. The precise adjustments to the KTS100 Mk8, SCW-10, SVDM, SG553R, and KV9 were not specified in EA’s October 1 preview.
- Do not treat the separate WZStats loadouts page as a ranked-meta list: its October 2 update includes M16A4, M87A1, and vz. 61, but it serves a different purpose. View the loadouts page.
EA’s September 15 Update 1.4.3.0 notes cover REDSEC mission flow, ring interactions, redeployment, loot behavior, and spectating, along with weapon reticle, optics, and attachment presentation improvements. They provide version context, not a complete current weapon ranking: EA Update 1.4.3.0 notes.
