Ghost of Yōtei Digital Deluxe includes the full game plus cosmetic and equipment bonuses and early access to Traveler’s Maps. At its U.S. launch, it cost $10 more than Standard; that is a historical price difference, not a current quote. Since then, Sony has released a Complete Edition that bundles the Deluxe items with new content, so the right choice now depends on your edition, local price and whether you want the expansion and survival mode.
What comes with Digital Deluxe?
Sony’s April 2025 announcement lists the Digital Deluxe Edition as a digital copy of Ghost of Yōtei plus these in-game extras:

The edition adds items and early map access to the base game; Sony’s listing does not describe a separate campaign for Digital Deluxe. It also does not assign a monetary or measured gameplay value to these bonuses. Sony’s edition announcement describes the contents.
What was the launch price difference?
Sony’s published launch MSRPs show the Deluxe premium over Standard. These are dated launch prices, not current offers.

At those U.S. launch prices, Deluxe cost $10 more. Check your local PlayStation Store and retailers for current editions and prices rather than treating launch MSRP as today’s price. Sony’s April 23, 2025 announcement gives the regional launch prices and availability.
How does the Complete Edition change the choice?
Sony announced Ghost of Yōtei Complete Edition for October 1, 2026 in most territories. Some territories, including Asia, Australia and New Zealand, received patch 2.0 on October 2. The Complete Edition includes the original game, Legends, the prior Digital Deluxe items, the Charm of Hokkyokusei, and two additions: the Echoes of Sekigahara story expansion and Most Wanted single-player combat survival mode. Sony’s announcement gave a $69.99 USD price for Complete Edition and a $14.99 USD Complete Edition Upgrade for existing owners; regional prices and availability may differ. For owners, the practical comparison is the price of the local upgrade against how much they want those two additions—not simply whether they already have Deluxe cosmetics.
Store prices are regional. For example, the Swiss German PlayStation Store page accessed October 4, 2026 showed CHF 79.90 for Complete Edition and CHF 14.90 for its add-on; those figures are specific to that storefront and date, not universal prices. Check the local Complete Edition store listing for current availability and price.

Which edition should you buy?
Choose Digital Deluxe if the extras appeal to you
It makes sense if you want the listed armor, dyes, horse customization, Charm or Sword Kit, or value getting Traveler’s Maps early. Those are preference-based reasons: Sony does not quantify their value or claim they improve the core game in a measured way.
Choose Standard if you only want the base game
At launch, Standard was the less expensive choice for players uninterested in the bonuses, and it was available both digitally and at retail. Sony described Digital Deluxe as a PlayStation Store purchase; it did not describe a physical Deluxe edition. For a current purchase, compare local Standard and Complete Edition prices and check the exact included entitlements.

If you already own the game, weigh the upgrade against the new content
The Complete Edition Upgrade is for existing owners who want the paid additions, especially Echoes of Sekigahara and Most Wanted. The $14.99 USD figure is Sony’s announced price, not a guaranteed local price. You do not need to buy the upgrade to receive every version 2.0 change.
Which update features are free to existing owners?
Sony said existing owners receive several version 2.0 additions without the paid upgrade:
- Beauty of Yōtei mode
- New Watanabe Mode tracks
- An option to keep one armor set’s appearance while using another set’s stats
- A high-contrast accessibility option
