The Mask Maker is in a secluded workshop at the northwest peak of Mount Fay. The climb is easier with the Faydown Cloak’s Double Jump; Clawline and a Mount Fay map also help. Speak with him for lore, then use a heavy-damage or charged attack to knock off his mask and unlock another set of dialogue.
Where to find the Mask Maker
Look for the Mask Maker in a workshop at the upper-left, or northwest, edge of Mount Fay. Reaching him means climbing through the region rather than simply visiting an accessible lower-level room.

The route described by All Things How starts from the updraft or jetstream chamber. Head west, drop southwest to a lower landing, and continue through a spike-lined chamber toward the northwest peak and workshop entrance. Watch the spike-room climb and time your movement around enemies.
This is a guide-based route, not an official walkthrough. Use the Mount Fay map to orient yourself, and expect the precise platforming to depend on your movement options and the room layout in your game.

What helps you reach the workshop
- Faydown Cloak: Its Double Jump helps with the upper-area climb. The guides recommend acquiring it before attempting the route.
- Clawline: Use it to cross gaps where the route calls for it.
- Mount Fay map: Shakra sells the map; it can help you keep the northwest peak in view as you move through the region.
These tools make the ascent more manageable, but the route still requires careful platforming through the spike-lined section.
What happens when you talk to him
The Mask Maker shares lore about masks, faces, Pharloom, and the land’s history. Hear his initial conversation before attacking him if you want to experience both dialogue states. One line sums up his sense of duty: “No matter the state of these lands, you should well know the necessity of my service.”

How to reveal the unmasked dialogue
- Talk to the Mask Maker and exhaust his initial conversation.
- Hit him with a heavy-damage or charged attack to knock off his mask.
- Speak to him again to hear the additional dialogue. His unmasked lines include: “To exist, a face is needed. It is the essential thing.”

Liquid Lacquer delivery and reward
The Mask Maker has a separate interaction tied to delivering Liquid Lacquer from Bellhart. After delivery, his dialogue indicates that he offers a reward, but the reviewed sources do not establish the reward’s exact item or value. Check the in-game dialogue and inventory rather than relying on an assumed reward.

Does the Mask Maker upgrade Silkshot?
Guides disagree: Gamer Guides includes the Mask Maker in a three-step Silkshot upgrade chain, while All Things How describes the first visit as a lore encounter with no direct quest reward. The character page records the Liquid Lacquer delivery but does not list a Silkshot upgrade. On that conflicting evidence, do not treat a Silkshot upgrade as a confirmed outcome of visiting him.
