Where Resonance fits
Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy is a prequel, not the next chapter after Requiem. Its main story follows Sophia and is set around 15 years before the events of Innocence and Requiem. Asobo Studio’s Resonance page and the Focus/Asobo developer blog on Sophia’s story describe the setting. You can play it first if you prefer fictional chronology, but the official descriptions establish its place in the timeline, not that it must be played first.

Release order
If you want to play the games in launch order, it is Innocence, Requiem, then Resonance. Focus lists Innocence as released May 14, 2019, and its investor announcement identifies Requiem’s release as October 18, 2022.
