For a practical choice, match a Strategist’s healing delivery, team utility, survivability and damage contribution to your team and playstyle. This guide reflects official updates through September 8, 2026; check the live roster and latest patch before relying on specific ability values.
What “healer” means in Marvel Rivals
“Healer” is a familiar shorthand for a hero who restores allies’ health, but the in-game role is Strategist. Strategists support a team in different ways; healing is only one part of their contribution. The official hero roster identifies the role and describes abilities, but it does not rank heroes by match performance.
That distinction matters when choosing a main. A hero who can heal several allies in an area may suit a grouped team, while a kit built around targeted healing or other utility may fit a different composition. Survival, damage pressure and how reliably you can use the kit also affect a Strategist’s value in a match.
How to choose a Strategist
- Healing delivery: Consider whether you prefer direct targeting, projectiles, area effects, healing over time or a burst window. The shape of a heal affects how easily you can reach an ally under pressure.
- Coverage and positioning: Think about how many teammates you can support at once and where you need to stand. Area healing can reward a team that stays together; targeted healing may ask you to track individuals.
- Utility beyond healing: Protection, buffs, crowd control and revival effects can help prevent damage or swing a fight. Compare what a kit offers beyond its healing numbers.
- Survivability and damage: A Strategist needs to stay active to support the team. Assess how safely you can position and whether you can add useful damage without neglecting allies.
- Patch and Team-Up context: Balance updates can change ability values and ultimate economy, while Team-Up changes can affect how a roster combination plays. Treat recommendations as patch-dependent, not permanent.
These are practical comparison criteria, not an official scoring system. The best fit for you is the Strategist whose tools you can use consistently in the team and situations you actually play.

A practical shortlist, not an official tier list
The official sources available for this guide establish hero roles, kit descriptions and particular balance changes, but they do not provide comparable win rates, pick rates, healing per match or another basis for a statistical best-to-worst list. The following options are therefore a qualitative starting point, not a claim that one hero is objectively strongest.
White Fox: consider her if you want a healing-oriented kit
The official White Fox hero page identifies her as a Strategist and describes a healing-oriented kit. That makes her a reasonable character to investigate if healing is the main part of the role you want to play. The page’s ability details should not be treated as guaranteed live values: balance changes can supersede them, so check the current in-game description.
Rank #2
Cloak & Dagger: consider the shape of their area healing
The September 8, 2026 balance post changed the area healing after a Lightforce Dagger hit from 25 to 20. That is a specific adjustment to one part of the kit, not proof of where Cloak & Dagger belong in an overall ranking. It does illustrate why area coverage and patch date matter when comparing Strategists. (Marvel Rivals Version 20260911 balance post, published September 8, 2026.)
Jubilee: check the current values and team fit
The August 4, 2026 balance post increased Jubilee’s Energy Plasmoids single-hit healing from 14 to 15. This documents a change, not a direct comparison with another hero’s healing output: a single-hit figure does not account for coverage, frequency, utility or match conditions. Jubilee was announced as a new hero in the Season 9 patch notes, which also announced a major Team-Up system revision. Consider the relevant version and Team-Up context when evaluating her alongside other choices.

Other recent adjustments are not rankings
The August 4 post also includes Strategist adjustments for Gambit, Loki and White Fox. The July 11, 2026 post covers changes for Gambit, Invisible Woman, Jubilee, Luna Snow, Mantis, Rocket Raccoon and Ultron. Those notes establish that multiple kits have been adjusted; they do not show which hero wins more matches or heals most effectively across real games. Read the August 4 balance post and July 11 balance post for the exact changes.
Why old healer rankings can go stale
Balance can change both a Strategist’s abilities and how quickly the role builds ultimate charge. On September 8, 2026, Marvel Rivals changed Strategist healing-to-energy conversion from 70% to 65% and damage-to-energy conversion from 55% to 50%. Those are global conversion changes, not direct measures of healing strength.

Earlier, on July 11, 2026, the conversion rate for healing by all Strategists had been increased from 60% to 70%. The direction of these successive changes shows why an undated list can mislead: a ranking based on an earlier patch may describe a different balance environment. Check patch notes and the live in-game kit when choosing a character; do not infer overall strength from an isolated healing number or energy-conversion value.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. How to make a choice in practice
- Start with your preferred support style. Decide whether you enjoy focused healing, supporting multiple allies in an area, or balancing heals with other forms of utility.
- Match the kit to your team. Consider whether teammates stay close enough for area effects, whether they need more targeted support, and which other tools could help the composition.
- Check the current version. Use the official hero roster for role and ability descriptions, then read the newest applicable patch notes for adjustments. The latest balance post covered here is dated September 8, 2026.
- Judge how reliably you can contribute. Pay attention to whether you can reach allies, stay alive and add damage or utility while keeping the team supported. Those factors are more useful for your own choice than treating a single patch value as a universal verdict.
What the official evidence can—and cannot—tell you
Official hero pages and patch notes are useful for identifying Strategists, understanding their abilities and tracking changes. They do not establish an overall best-to-worst healer ranking, or settle which hero has the highest win rate, pick rate or healing per match. Without comparable outcome data, any recommendation should be understood as a playstyle-based judgment rather than a statistically proven tier list.
